The attention to detail and personalized service at this property was extraordinary. The atmosphere and ambiance was outstanding and the view of Seneca lake is amazing. I can’t imagine there is a better property for a weekend stay anywhere in the Finger Lakes!

Perfect getaway on lake Seneca. Well kept historic inn with spacious rooms. Very friendly and accommodating hosts who offered a variety of recommendations from dining to recreation. Definitely wil be back!

We spent a weekend at the Idlewilde Inn in July. The Inn hosts greeted us with smiles and a grand tour of their beautiful Inn. We loved sitting on the wrap porch and the daily breakfasts. Our favorite moment was watching a sunrise hot balloon launch from the front lawn. The Inn hosts are welcoming and wonderful. The Inn is amazing, comfortable, beautiful and clean. I highly recommend a stay at the Idlewilde Inn. Marcus and Elon are great hosts. We are looking forward to our next visit!

The grounds are gorgeous, a gazebo, an huge porch and lots of tables, chairs and benches to relax with a book and a bottle of wine from the nearby wineries - all with a gorgeous view of the lake. The breakfasts that are included are fabulous - a daily smoothie, unbelievable French toast with fresh peaches and berries one day and a sausage, egg and cheese panini the next. Sit anywhere on the property and they serve you there. The bed was very comfortable as well. We would definitely stay at the Idlwilde Inn again in the future.

Idlwilde Inn in Watkins Glen is a magnificent Victorian Mansion set high on a hill and overlooking Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes. The rooms are beautiful with period furniture and interesting style. You can wake up to a brilliant sunrise early in the morning and then have a perfectly exquisite breakfast in the dining room or on the spacious front porch. You will not be disappointed in staying here as there is much to do on the grounds and the location is near many other options in Watkins Glen. The host, Marcus, was very accommodating and we were also greeted by the resident canine, Stella who enjoys all the guests. Definitely recommend.

The Idlewilde is an amazing, beautiful,peaceful respite. Initially traveled there many years ago on a knitting weekend with a group of friends. My husband and I now come every year to celebrate our Anniversary. It sits atop the hillside overlooking Seneca Lake. The breakfasts are delicious, fresh and imaginative. Marcus and Elin are the quintessential host and hostess, always ready to help and make suggestions. The rooms and the whole house are beautiful. Kudos, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. thanks again for another amazing weekend….hope to see you next year!!

Amazing bed and breakfast. Marcus' communication is exceptional - clear instructions prior to arrival and a great guide provided of the area. Beautifully decorated and immaculate - we arrived and were upgraded to a larger suite as there was availability. I am vegan and the breakfast was excellent - they were able to provide earlier breakfast service so we could leave for our trip to New York City. Will return in the future - one overnight barely introduced us to the area - so many exciting things to do or beautiful chairs and a venue that may lead you to relax and just enjoy the views
