This hotel blew me away. With stunning views, a wonderful pool, multiple great restaurants, its situation in an absolute charmer of a town, it's the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I will remember it for life. I found this hotel on Mr. and Mrs. Smith when I was researching the Amalfi Coast. When I scrolled through the photos—of lush manicured grass and pretty pink flowers set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tyrrhenian sea—I knew I had to come here. But pictures fail to do this place justice. And words can't describe how privileged—yes, privileged—I felt to be a guest at this hotel as I first entered its doors into its ivy covered courtyard. Walk towards the edge of said courtyard, and you'll find the expanse of the Amalfi Coast in front of you. The Palazzo Avino is a place that knows how to dish up dramatic view after dramatic view, inviting you in and pampering you so you'll never feel like leaving. The room was classically designed, and very very comfortable. But I barely spent any time in the room. Why do so when a vacation on the Amalfi Coast practically begs for lounging by the pool and sipping Aperol Spritz? Do spend at least half a day at the hotel's clubhouse by the sea. The hotel offers a free shuttle to its private clubhouse down at sea level, where you can take a dip in the cool waters of the Tyrrhenian sea, which was certainly necessary in the heat of August. I came to understand from our fellow loungers that guests at this hotel were mostly return visitors. While I typically eschew staying at the same place twice in the name of seeking new experiences, I might have to reconsider this stance if I ever come back to Ravello.
