What to say about this lodge!!! Amazing location - one of the best i have ever been - (note that photos underestimate the place)!, amazing people, the manager and the staff are just fantastic, very good rooms, excellent food (among the best we found in 2-weeks in sri lanka), and amazing safaris! if you are interested in birdwatching the area around the lodge can give a full day on itself!!!

Eine sehr schöne und sehr ruhige Lage und schönem Blick vom Pool in den Regenwald. Das Essen war lecker, auch ansprechend zubereitet. Leider ein paar Mängel: Mückennetz nicht funktionsfähig, Zimmer sind sehr dunkel, im Bad wenig Licht, Wlan hat nicht funktioniert, kein Netz. Raum für 4 Personen in zwei Ebenen und im oberen Teil ist die Klimaanlage ohne Wirkung, Sehr unangenehm! Unfaire Behandlung unseres Fahrers, bzgl. seiner Übernachtung. Sehr schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. An keinem Ort in Sri Lanke waren die Getränke teurer.

This is a real gem close to the Sinharaja Rainforest NP. The property is historic and beautiful. The location and scenery are even better. You can walk down to the river and swim there in pure nature or in the infinity pool of the hotel. Spectacular views, you are in the middle of the rainforest with all the luxury you can think of. Excellent food too. We were sorry to leave.

What a fantastic experience. Beautiful setting, fantastic rooms and tremendous staff. The room was very large with a fabulous bed and bathroom. Lovely news from.the balcony. The pool and surround were calm, clean and dreamy. A fantastic place to relax. We were welcomed by the staff and they were there to help with anything you needed. The restaurant served fresh , tasty meals. A little bit of paradise!!

We spent 3 nights here whilst taking trips into the rainforest. It’s in a magical location, high up on a hill overlooking the rainforest. Whilst we were there, there were spectacular rain storms in the afternoon and early evening, which I absolutely loved watching from the verandah of the property. The property itself was clean and tidy, and our room was simple but perfectly acceptable. The mattress wasn’t particularly good, but it was ok for the time we spent there. Food was pretty good, but given that every meal is taken at the property (there is nothing else around), the menu becomes a bit repetitive after 3 days. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Tuk tuk rides to the forest entrance were provided, and they also organised our transfer to the next destination. I think the options for accommodation close to the rainforest entrance are pretty limited, and I would certainly recommend Jansen’s Bungalow.
