I can't rate our experience this weekend highly enough at The Bridge Inn. We messed them around with our ever changing booking time and our extreme dietary requirements. They not only rose to the challenge (And a special thanks to our waitress today), the absolutely made the weekend for us. Not only was the food excellent, their attention to detail was superb, offering excellent food substitutions and even acting on my daughter noticing the delicious tablet with our coffees, and the waiter slipping her a few on a plate. The staff are clearly very well trained and know how to manage tricky customers. Thank you so much for making our friends reunion extra special.

Quaint and Relaxing Stay! We only stayed one night at the Bridge Inn prior to returning home from a vacation. It was very relaxing. Despite the rooms being small, as is the case with many hotel rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was great! The customer service was also great. The restaurant was to die for!! The food was very high quality. The service was impeccable (Thank you, Evie). We only wish we had been able to stay longer to explore the canals and remainder of the neighborhood. It is located in a very interesting neighborhood.

Surprised to see some poor reviews - we took some American visitors there for lunch and it was superb! My partner is vegetarian and there were really imaginative dishes for him. Cullen Skink was even better than my homemade one. Lovely play area for the children in our party. The Americans were bowled over by it. Food was delicious and service was good. Drawing sheet and crayons provided for the kids without us having to ask.

A truly enjoyable evening in a very pleasant setting. We received excellent service from our waitress, Beth, and ate delicious food. We all rated the steak pie and sticky toffee pudding very highly, and won’t be leaving it too long before making a return visit!

Went in for a quick Sunday lunch (13 July). It took three attempts to lift the empty water glass off the table as it was stuck. Took an age for someone to take our order and another age for it to be delivered. Sunday roast lamb . . . . no mint sauce available! There was more fat than meat, was essentially a slice of lamb rolled in fat. Veg was poor and small amounts. Yorkshire pudding was disappointing too. I had a beef burger which was no more than ok, chips were ok but warm, not hot. When asked was everything ok we explained we were disappointed and the reasons why. The waitress did ask if we wanted to speak to a manager but as we were in a hurry declined though did assure us she would pass on our comments to the kitchen staff. To summarise - poor service, poor food and over priced.

On arrival we ordered drinks which came quickly, ordered Cullen skink and sour dough bread for starters, Sunday roast for mains 2 beef and 1 lamb. This took over 45 mins to arrive, food was passable at best no mint sauce! No apology for delay or did you enjoy your meal? On paying I explained that the food was bland it was similar to what you would get in a chain restaurant in fact the portions would have likely been bigger, tastier and hotter. She did remove I plate and said she would pass my comments on ………. For a 4* establishment it fell very short of my expectations, sadly this had been gifted to us however I would certainly not recommend this restaurant. Poor customer service Bland food Lukewarm

We moored our hired canal boat at Ratho today. As we have had most of our meals on board so far we decided to try the Bridge Inn. Welcoming staff, lovely dining area and the food was excellent. He had the pie of the day with veggies and mash, I had bangers and mash. Delicious sausages with mash and a sauce that was just perfect. Great drinks menu and our deserts were so tasty. Highly recommend this pub.

Odd experience. I'm Scottish, so my service expectations are low, but this was something else. Confused when we asked what each other were ordering, only to find out we had different menus. The waitress took the old ones and scrunched them up! One of us ordered a "burger, well done". She replied, I swear this is true "Don't worry, they're always a bit burnt!". I ordered a beer shandy and asked what beers they had. "Best' she replied. "Best what?" I asked. "Just Best". She had no idea. To be fair the food was good. Shandy was awful - tasted soapy. Great location, service bizarre.

Highly recommend. Just a bit outside Edinburgh, but easy to get into town. The hourly bus goes right by and takes you to the tram, which runs every 9 minutes into town, or the airport. It takes about 45 minutes to get into old Town, and the price is less than staying in town. Comfy rooms, quiet, safe, excellent friendly and well-trained staff. Good restaurant and pub.
