Leider kann ich keine positive Erinnerung hinterlassen. Ich hatte eine sehr enttäuschende persönliche Erfahrung mit den Eigentümern: Ich bin zu ihnen gekommen, um zu arbeiten – mit Engagement und Einsatz –, doch ich wurde nicht behalten und mein wohlverdienter Lohn wurde mir nicht ausbezahlt. Darüber hinaus fehlte es in der Küche leider an jeglichem professionellen Standard: Apfelmus wurde auf Bolognese serviert, und die Pasta wurde ins kalte Wasser geworfen, noch bevor es zu kochen begann. Für jemanden mit Respekt vor gutem Essen – eine kleine Katastrophe. Letztendlich habe ich meine Ziele anderswo erreicht, bei Menschen, die an mich geglaubt und mich geschätzt haben. An alle Leser: Ich hoffe, dass Ihre Erfahrung anders verlaufen wird. An das Management dieser Unterkunft: Wie man Menschen behandelt – und wie man kocht – sagt oft mehr aus als jede noch so beeindruckende Alpenkulisse.

Wir haben im Restaurant Alphotel zur Wildi Hamburger bestellt und während dem Warten zugesehen, wie der Koch beim Zusammensetzen der Hamburger mehrmals seine Finger abgeleckt hatte. Als ich die Hamburger nach dieser Beobachtung nicht wollte, gab es zwar das Geld zurück, aber mit einem Murren vom Personal "das ist in der Küche normal...". Ich werde nicht mehr freiwillig in dieses Restaurant gehen.

Ein Traum! Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal in der "Wildi" zu Gast und es war auch diesmal wieder unfassbar schön. Ein tolles Zimmer mit Aussicht über das Tal bis zum Weisshorn, sehr nettes Personal und sehr leckeres Abendessen und Frühstück. Gerne wieder!

Narrow windy roads and hairpin curves with spectacular (and scary!) views to drive up there. The hotel is up a mountain so its possibly good for skiing as its close to ski chair lift. But for summer, unless you are a keen hiker, it is disappointing. The access road is a dirt road from the main road in the village. Google maps takes you further away from the hotel, so for the last 10 minutes of the drive I would recommend using the pale blue street signs and a banner, rather than google maps, to reach the hotel. Poor signage to reach reception. Stunning views from the restaurant terrace of the hotel, unfortunately our room had no view at all. The staff were friendly and helpful but do not speak French or English, only German. Food was reasonable. The local cable car stops at 1530 so plan your trip accordingly.

Very clean and comfortable. Located in a beautiful spot very close to the gorgeous Panoramaweg along the Lötschental. However you do need to know what to expect. It is a 15-minute drive up the mountain from the nearest town (Wiler). There are no other evening restaurants, bars, shops or facilities there, so if you arrive after 7 pm, you need to drive back down again to eat (the nearby gondola is closed in the evening). Importantly, access to the hotel is 200 metres up a rough track; any low-slung car would have grounded on the track immediately but fortunately we were driving my wife’s car and there is usually parking space at the top. Don’t arrive in the dark; satnav won’t show you the right way. The host speaks only German (and Swiss-German). No lift. Having said all that, it’s a lovely setting.
