Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rapid City I-90

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn I-90 in Rapid City and overall found it to be a nice hotel in a convenient location. The room was not cleaned but comfortable, and the amenities were what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a serious issue during our stay. A hotel cleaner mistakenly threw out some of our personal items that had been left on the desk in our room and was clearly not rubbish (total value over USD$100.00). When we reported this to the shift manager, he was apologetic and explained that the cleaner was new and had only been working there for a few days. As a goodwill gesture, we were offered one night free and were provided with an invoice for the refund, even though we had prepaid for our stay. However, the situation became even more disappointing after we returned to Australia and attempted to claim the refund. The hotel denied the incident entirely. We sent a follow-up email disputing their response, but to date, we have received no reply. It’s unfortunate because the hotel itself is well-maintained and in a good spot, but the way this issue has been handled—particularly the lack of follow-up and refusal to honor a promise—has left a very negative impression. We hope the management will take responsibility and improve how they handle situations like this in the future. As big overseas travelers, we have made a decision never to stay at a Holiday Inn Hotel/Express again.

We have stayed in many holiday inn expresses all over the U.S. This is by far has been our favorite. Great breakfast, wonderful staff, very friendly! The manager, Nathan, went out of his way to help our daughter, who got sick during our vacation. Very, very clean. Their pool area was great.

$200 per night. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was clean. Breakfast included a pancake machine that turned out pancakes with a weird texture. Were out of dairy milk. Laundry on site. $1 wash and $1 dry which is really cheap. 2 washers and 2 dryers. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Gym is equipped enough too!

What a great stay! we did not get a chance to play in the pool, but the room was wonderful. It was clean, the only thing we a bit of a problem with was some noisy neighbors. But that did not last. The Hot breakfast was really refreshing. Love the shampoo, conditioner and bath gel in the shower!!!!
