Hotel Vos
4.3/563 Reviews
We chose Vos based on the high reviews here and also proximity to everything we wanted to do on the way to Vik (about an hour drive and a half from the hotel) and yet have a shorter drive heading back north on the final day of our stay as opposed to be driving back from Vik - and from that perspective it couldn't work out any better, given I was surprised how far from the main road the hotel itself is - not that it's a problem but just quite a drive to make it back and forth if you stay for longer than 1 night, like we did. The hotel is cozy, clean, on a smaller end - for some reason I expected a much bigger property - the rooms therefore were on a smaller end, probably the smallest rooms we had during our 10 days - it wasn't an issue of course as there was still plenty room for 2 big bags to open up. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and complimentary hot tea/chocolate/coffee 24/7 was also a very welcome thing - especially at night when we stayed outside longer in the cold waiting for the northern lights :) honor bar was also a nice touch if beer (prices very comparable to everywhere else) or wine or soda/pop was something you wanted to grab (no walking distance store, nor one for quite a long drive either so pick up things before you settle in or use the honor bar) We were excited for the dinner but ultimately skipped as it's a very limited menu (understandably) - in a retrospective that wasn't the best idea as there are no really great dinner spots in this area of Iceland until you really get closer to Vik - and that is way too long of a drive just for a meal

I checked in with my friend at 7:30 in the evening. I didn't find the front desk. I was in contact with Ctrip. The processing speed was very fast. I quickly contacted the store, but we were surprised that the store was in the distance. Seeing us, like two fools standing next to the cabin outside the 500M, it was raining, blowing the wind, did not want to come over and tell us where to check in, personally feel that the service is general, only when selling breakfast A little warm. The front desk gave the nearest cabin, but the luggage was really exhausted. It took about three minutes to get out of the parking lot. However, the house was on a hillside and the luggage was not tiring. The cabin is good, the heating is also very good, but the bathroom sewer is a bit stinky, and the bathroom has to be closed to sleep at night, but when the door is opened in the morning, the taste is very smoked. I want to ride a horse, but I don't have time, so I give up. In general, I feel that I feel good.
Hotel Kanslarinn Hella
4.2/560 Reviews
When we booked Kansarlinn we were a bit apprehensive if we had made the right choice but for our given dates there was little affordable in the neighborhood. What a pleasant surprise we were in for! The unpretentious road-side white hotel with its adjacent same-name restaurant proved to be one of our best accommodation experiences in island. Will start by saying how wonderful the people are, the owner ( a country music lover!) and all of the staff at the restaurant, wonderful people,. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, modern inside, the room was large, comfortable for 3 people, value-for-money for sure. Only thing that we did not like /could be improved is the size of the beds that are tiny in width! What is this with single Icelandic beds to be hardly 60 cm wide??! I had not fallen off my bed since I was 4, nearly did here. Note that the double is two teeny singles put together. Also the view could have been been a bit better but is part of the deal of a roadside hotel/inn... The adjacent restaurant was great, we enjoyed a fabulous local fish and chips dinner with some local draft beer under the sounds of some good country music for a very competitive price! The breakfast, served in the restaurant was equally fabulous, filled us to the max with both hot and cold offerings and great coffee. Highly recommended, hotel and restaurant alike!
Landhotel
4.5/565 Reviews
Apart from a greenhouse and some geothermal equipment, this is a hotel in the middle of nowhere. The upstairs dining room has a magnificent view in all directions, and a glass fenced balcony. Although excessively bare, the rooms are not bad.The bed is fairly firm, though rather spoiled by a soft- top mattress and the usual lack of upper sheet. The curtains are opaque , but need a lot of work to be made to fit adequately for blackout. There is no bath ( even in a place of such plentiful water), but at least there is an actual full enclosure for the shower, and a meagre but usable basin. Both breakfast and dinner were good- beware the premature breakfast clearing, though!
Farmer's Guest House
4.6/511 Reviews
This was found and booked by my wife. What an amazing place. Its basically a working farm with sheep and horses. In the morning my family saw a sheepdog herding the sheep around. And the friendly horses joined us for a foto opportunity. They have 3 cottages and also a farm house for rent. The farmhouse is 100+ years old. Built in the old way. And I think a great choice. It was roomy enough for 5 adults but still felt cozy and homey. The cellar has a washing machine. 1st floor has living room and kitchen and a toilet. Kitchen was great and fully stocked. It has even a rice cooker!! Amazing. We bought along our own food and cooked there. 2nd floor we have 4 bedrooms and a bathroom. 1 downside is the small bathroom and for 8 could be a bit lacking. Also being an old house...was bit scary for me. Had bad experience in another rental. But no such thing here. The rest it’s a great stay and highly recommended. But be warned. No street lighting in Iceland. So at night it gets really dark and hard to find the way.
Stracta Hotel
4.3/5128 Reviews
The hotel is located in a small town on the way from the Golden Circle to Vic, which is convenient for staying after touring the Golden Circle. The town is not big. There are supermarkets and restaurants opposite the hotel, which is quite convenient, but the supermarket is closed on Sundays, and the prices at the supermarket next to the gas station are abnormally expensive. I booked a two-bedroom room, which has two rooms and a living room, complete kitchen and bathroom, and the room is clean. The hotel also has a hot spring bath, where you can take a bath by yourself. The hotel breakfast is also OK, and the quality is good.
