Hotels near Sangumal Beach, Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel and trust me, we didn't feel secure nor liked. 1st the General Manager is a disobedient, heartless, money minded, un professional, un cultured, un civilized and an illiterate *** inside this hotel. He thinks he is always right and all the guests have to obey his command, eat according to his way and even if you don't like the room, you have to sleep in his allotted rooms, he will not give you a second choice. The Deluxe rooms are just normal rooms, the one deluxe room ground floor ( Room No 116) where I stayed was with a broken window handle, cannot be closed and late midnight someone tried to open the window but I woke up and switched on the lights, we didn't't feel safe as I was with my 8 years son & wife. For every woman's beauty lies in a mirror but in this room 1 mirror was totally dark and the other one was with black patches, not visible. The toilet was too small, the curtains were torn, unclean bed sheets & towels, the toilet door cannot be locked from outside, broken tiles inside the toilet. However, after complaining, they changed my room ( Room No 114) again with the same issue in the new room, the AC was not working, with unpainted & bubbles coming out from the wall, you can see only Tamil channels on their TV. Breakfast: It's better to eat outside rather than having their tasteless complimentary breakfast, no respect for North, East and West tourists. You can find a so called Paratha but without sabjee or gravy, you can find only plain dosa but not masala dosa, all the items which were served were not my cup of tea. Language problem: No staff members could understand our national language nor English, I am afraid what circumstances happens with the international tourists. A hotel runs and gets good reviews only for the front faces of the hotel but when the General Manager is a Cruck, the hotel cannot get good reviews, this hotel needs rectification & repairs immediately. For the HOTEL OWNERS: The hotel & business partners of this hotel should immediately terminate & kick out this present General Manager and appoint a new professional to enhance their hotel. Hotel Ashoka was our pick when we were doing our initial screening of hotel selections and truly it did not let us down. We had booked a family room with Balcony. The room was very spacious with 2 double beds enough to easily accommodate 4 people. Hot water was available 24*7 thanks to geyser. The water cooler was also available at arms length because of which we didn't have to buy a bottle of water. The only thing which lacked in our room was a mini fridge. Coming to the food, the breakfast was really tasty with vegetarian south indian spread. Chutneys will not let you down. Tea and coffee and a sweet was nice. We also had dinner on one day and dal tadka, jeera rice and aloo mgobi sabji didnt let us down. Overall a good hotel with very close proximity to the north gate of Ramanathaswamy temple. (3min walk)

It's worth for money. I booked two ac rooms for 6 members (4 adults and two kids age around 11. I didn't ask for room service but restaurants were near by and walkable distance to temple. Good parking available. Rooms are clean.

You get what you pay for. Basic hotel with minimum basic but clean facilities. Though they say Free WIFI but it is not available in the rooms (only available at the reception). At least they shouldn't misguide the guests. Their location is really plus as it is walking distance from the west gate of the temple. The food at the DEVI restaurant was surprisingly good - you can try it there.

Stayed on 9th of July 2023 Positive: 1. The hotel is 5 minutes (approx) walking distance from Ramanathaswamy Temple. 2. Reception staff (Night Shift) was courteous. Negative: 1. Room is too small, if you just want to sleep go for it and should not pay more than INR 1500, excluding breakfast. 2. There is NO car parking on the hotel premises, you have to park your vehicle somewhere away. I requested and I was lucky since I parked my car in a corridor outside the hotel's entrance but had to submit my car key. 3. Bathroom had 2 big cockroaches. 4. Cleanliness was poor, especially bathroom flooring. If you have your own transport, I suggest you should stay in a hotel 1km to 1.5km away from the temple, the hotels are big and better. You can park your car near the temple since small private parking spaces are available.

Only looks good from outside with lights. When we arrived none there to pick bags. None at reception. Took a while for them to figure out how should they react and who should act. Rooms are getting old or in right words not well maintained. Housekeeping: Ask for extra blanket and they say they charge ₹400 (not bed only blanket). Yes extra charge for extra blanket, towel. Plus additional charge is stained during stay. Restaurant is small which accommodates in house as well outside guests. Ask for room service and high possibility you will hear only excuses not the order. In one liner Overall Lack of adequate staff, lack of service quality and lack of professionalism. Good thing is they have adequate place for drivers stay and rest room. Location is good on the main road and nearer to temple.

It was a good stay. Rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only problem we faced was the service at breakfast. We did not get most if what was ordered at the live counter. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. The food was also a little overpriced for being vegetarian.

Hotel Aalayam is cheap and best hotel in Rameshwaram. Room are neat and clean.Housekeeping staffs hospitality and courtesy was good.Good experience of Ramewaram.especially Hk supervisor Jothi is good response staff.garden all is good.
