Raleigh Midtown

We (2 couples) stayed here several years ago during New Years. It was great!! I looked on the internet and even called several places in Raleigh trying to find it again as all of us had forgotten the name. We were so disappointed this time. This whole place needs a THROUGH cleaning! Everything - the walls, the furniture, the ceilings & the carpeting were so dirty we put sheets on everything before we sat on it. It’s in desperate need of an outside paint job and they need a Maintenance Dept. that does their job!! We made several requests regarding the dirty office chair and a missing kitchen chair. They eventually brought the kitchen chair (after 2 requests) and never replaced the nasty office chair. The ceiling fan was in disrepair (had a blade hanging down) and constantly rattled. They did attempt to appease us with another totally unacceptable room. The ceiling fan was even louder. We didn’t look at anything else as no one could have slept through the fan noise!! I’ve attached a few pictures for reference. Do yourselves a favor, don’t stay here.

I had to attend my cousin's funeral on New Year's Eve in the Raleigh area so I decided to give Residence a chance one more time. I visit Raleigh often because my family lives there. My grandchildren and I checked in that Saturday night 12/31/2022 in room 514. We discovered it was roach infested! I had to move to another room with all my grandchildren in the middle of the night because the roaches started coming out when I turned the lights back on! They put is in room 1814 and that had roaches as well! They finally moved us again. It was a terrible experience, and I didn't sleep well because I feared bringing roaches back home and they still charged me!

We were in town for a reunion of sorts and wanted to be somewhere where we could get around easily and avoid the madness of Crabtree Valley at Christmas time. We had stayed at this Residence Inn before so we knew it fit the bill. Check in was easy. I used my Marriott Suite Night Awards and got moved into a two-level room. That was really nice and gave us a lot of space. The room itself was really good. Huge. All the amenities. Clean. We ate breakfast every morning. I enjoyed the wide selection of food including eggs, sausage, vegetable scramble, waffles, oatmeal. It was great. Parking was a breeze. Lots of a available parking. Importantly, access to and from the hotel via Wake Forest Road (a sometimes heavily travelled road) was easy as a result of a light at Navaho and Wake Forest. Checkout was equally easy. We had a great time in Raleigh and the hotel and staff was lovely. We will definitely stay here again.

Came for a week and arrived earlier than expected. We were allowed to check in early and the entire staff was extremely friendly from the moment that we came in. Alkeim,James,Derick ,Sierra and the entire stuff were just great.

Extremely dated rooms and odor of mold/smoke in the room. Mold in the bubbled ceilings of shower and rugs were extremely overdue for a replacement. Torn rug in between room between shower and bathroom and along the room walls. The cleanliness was a struggle to get over. Hair in the shower on sink and bathroom when we first arrived. This was not your typical Marriott experience. The only thing that saves this stay were the front desk/dining staff and their service. Marriott definitely needs to update these rooms. My 5 year old kept saying he doesn’t want to step on the ripped rug. Be sure to bring shower/ rubber slippers to wear throughout the room.

BUDBUGS in Room 812. I stayed at this location on Friday, September 9th and Saturday morning, I woke up to bedbugs in my bed and on the pillow. Over the following days, I have found bites on both my arms, hands, neck, chest, and a place that shouldn't be photographed. Make them prove that they have gotten rid of the bedbugs in the entire building & complex. The worst part is that the manager, Aaron Black was horrible. I tried to be discreet and show him a picture of one of the bugs. His response was "I don't know what that is". I responded by telling him that it was a bedbug. His respond was not "Let me check into it Or I'm sorry you're having a problem, let me see what I can do. " No, his response was "Bedbugs don't just manifest. They are brought from somewhere. " The he proceeds to tell me that he's been in the hotel industry so he knows. I will upload my pictures to any site that will allow. This was a horrible experience and Aaron Black made it even worse. I am the one with bites all over and he was being rude to me. No courtesy. No concern. No empathy and no urgency to take care of the bedbugs or even verify that the room had bedbugs.
