well it is a ghost town and the property has been neglected. The staff is amazing at straight face lying about dining and conditions. I am sure it was special in it's day but no longer - very sad

I stayed at the resort ten years ago and had a fantastic experience then. What we experienced this past week was completely different. It's a beautiful property in a great location with okay food. Unfortunately, that's the extent of our positive experience. The facilities were dated (although the grounds were in great shape) and the leisure activities seemed sad. The boathouse activities consisted of a couple of self-service kayaks and a neglected boat house, along with a path riddled with old goose poop that hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. The fitness center needs a facelift and felt like stepping back into the late 80s/early 90s. There must be major issues with housekeeping right now - when it's printed in the resort guide that housekeeping is unavailable after 2:30pm you know it's a red flag. The morning after we checked in, we realized we didn't have any bath towels or bathmats. When I called the front desk, they brought me a garbage back of extra towels. I asked the very nice gentleman if we could get our room serviced as my son had a small accident overnight and I had to ***** one of the beds. (When I stripped the bed, I could see the mattress had several old and nasty stains.) He assured me that it would be taken care of and there was even a cleaning person and cart near our room when we departed for the day's activities. When we came back that night, the pile of dirty linens was still on our floor, the other bed was unmade, the trash hadn't been emptied, and nothing had been straightened up. I let the front desk know, and while they were profusely apologetic, they informed me that they could provide fresh linens but not make the bed for me. An employee brought me another trash bag of bedding and a second bag of clean towels. I made the bed myself, something that is just mind-boggling for a "resort". The next day the room had been serviced, but the beds were only partially made, which is just bizarre. I also noticed upon check-in that it seemed especially dirty under the bathroom vanity and on the final morning of our stay I had the courage to look under to discover a partially eaten chocolate cookie stuck to the baseboard. It looked like it had been there for quite some time. I had talked up the resort to other family members that stayed with me this time and was disappointed in our stay. I never leave negative reviews, but they need the feedback and hopefully a new owner can interject capital into renovations and improved staffing. The property has such a nice variety of housing options, amenities and grounds, but it needs a major facelift to bring it back to its potential.

The property is not maintained. The grounds are dirty and the only flowers you will see are when you drive in and at the clubhouse. The rest of the grounds are filled with weeds. The buildings are in poor shape and peeling paint everywhere. The room smelled musty and was not very clean. Chipped painting on the inside as well. Not resort-like at all. The pickleball courts look nice, the breakfast is really good and the bed is comfortable. The pool is really nice and the area is very pretty.

This resort could be so nice. It needs a lot of TLC and training for the staff. They need to take some pride in their jobs and the facility they work for.

Don’t come here expecting a resort experience. The employees cannot help that the place is falling apart, but when you read “resort” you do tend to have certain expectations. We stayed in a manor house with the rest of our family and friends while attending a weekend conference. Let me preface by saying I didn’t pay a dime to stay here. We were invited down for the weekend to attend the conference. Let me also say that I do not have unrealistic expectations when I stay somewhere. I can deal with most issues as they can always happen. I was shocked when we pulled up to the manor house and realized what poor shape it was in. Dilapidated exterior, peeling paint, brick steps in desperate need of retooling. Our room (as well as the others) was extremely dark and dismal. You can smell a certain dampness as you enter similar to some of the cheaper hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. With the overhead light and all the lamps on, you can almost see what you were doing. Linens were clean and but the beds are hard. My pillow was fine. My wife complained hers were flat. AC works well, but displays a pungent odor from time to time resembling sour milk or feet. The curtains also had a very strange stain splattered on them. The bathroom sinks were peeling badly and every corner showcased a nice selection of mold & mildew. The shower, however, did have admirable pressure and was nice and hot. They also have the older toilets that can flush 58 golf balls at once. The carpet felt very damp and almost sticky and the floor tile in the common areas was very dingy and uneven. The furniture is very dated. When we got ready to go to bed the first night, we found that our room did not actually lock. In fact. The latch was pulling out of the door frame. These houses are also not built to house multiple families. Whomever the other family was staying above us were apparently either raised by buffalo or were professional tumblers. Not really their fault, but just keep in mind that this old house isn’t built with the ability to filter out much more than dropping a marshmallow on the floor above. The grounds were pretty well kept and the flowers, shrubbery, and mulch beds all looked pretty nice. I will give them that. As far as the conference. We were in “the pavilion” the first night. It was incredibly hot and uncomfortable. There was also not enough seating for the roughly 100-150 people in attendance. Their solution to a large tent/pavilion full of people in the middle of July was one stand-up air circulator and a couple of fans. The next afternoon, we were in the ballroom and it appears that the AC was not working in there either….. We opened a door to the rotunda (that had working AC) in hopes it would help… it didn’t. The food service was also subpar. Warm drinks with melting ice (mostly due to the AC issues). Moldy bread during lunch that was switched out twice (for more moldy bread)…. Quality of the food is comparable to a shoneys buffet (not a go

This place is digusting and overpriced. TV and Telephone didn’t work, bathroom sink drained very slow and bathtub had mold in it. Nothing was clean and we also had spiders as guests…..totally gross experience, Stephen (Manager) did not care said he refund resort fees, but he lied. This was an Executive Suite for $250 a night. What a total ripoff don’t waste your money. Food was disgusting!

An incredible experience that was unexpected, ill-timed, spontaneous, and absolutely necessary. Our time at Glade Springs will go down as one of the most memorable and enjoyable stays we have ever had at a resort. The staff MADE this visit. We were so well taken care of - cannot write enough accolades about how accommodating ALL of the staff members are at The Resort at Glade Springs.
