Just had 2 nights at the bay horse inn , a bit out of the way , you would always need to use your car We arrived 7 minutes before 5 pm and the landlord wasn’t best suited about this so stick to time The room was basic but comfortable and the food was quite good Evening meals around £16 and desserts £7 The inn it’s self is very dark I did feel the owners could have been a bit more pleasant and that spoiled it for me a bit At £90 a night for B&B it was not too bad

We'd booked a 2 night stay and needed to be close to Thirsk. Old 350 year old pub, so a bit of a quirky layout, but had a great stay. The rooms were "different", a slope in the floor, as you'd expect for such an old building, but the rooms were clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. Flexible with eating times and the food quality was excellent at very reasonable prices. Plus the landlord serves excellent beers. Would have no hesitation if booking again if looking to stay in the area.

The hosts were lovely, very attentive, friendly and accommodating Nothing was too much trouble. The pub is cosy with regulars keeping it busy and in line with a country pub. Food was really good with oversized portions. Furniture is just a little tired but don’t let this put you off.

Stayed overnight in the Bay Horse Inn. Had a meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Really good size portions. Dining staff exceptionally pleasant. Good to see double duvets on single beds, bath towels were a great size too. Had a restful sleep before our journey home.

Lovely pub stay
We stayed here for a Sunday night on the way home from a weekend away. The staff and locals were friendly, food was great and the room comfortable enough although the floorboards were really creaky in our room (although it is an older building so it is to be expected)
We would definitely stay here again, should the opportunity arise
