Great location for viewing Quilatoa. Staff was very attentive and room and dining facilities very clean. Food was included in the stay and good value for the price. The staff serving dinner and breakfast were very attentive, even made hot milk for me to add to my coffee. My only complaint would be that our room had an enclosed “sun porch” and the roof was a piece of hard plastic not tacked down on one corner and with the wind blowing it was very loud all night. Also the beds are just so so in comfort and they have a plastic cover that makes you sweat somewhat.

Beautiful location in Quilotoa across the street from the crater visitor’s center. Comfortable accommodations with decent Wi-Fi, excellent food in the restaurant that is not included with your room fee. For Ecuador, the prices are $$$ to $$$$. Room was clean. The proximity to the lake is one of its best feature. The staff was professional and helpful with all we asked of them.

My stay here was fine. Only complaints are that the walls/floors are thin and I could hear my neighbours through the night. Also when I signed in, the host didn’t have the right change to give me so she told me to return for my $1 later. When I returned, nobody knew what I was asking about and ultimately I was overcharged :(

Accueil froid à notre arrivée où nous avions l'impression de gêner le service du restaurant.
Heureusement le cuisinier s'est démené pour faire de bons plats malgré le manque d'ingrédients à sa disposition...
La réception ne nous a pas expliqué grand chose sur les services proposés...
Le manque de clients ne doit pas faire oublier ceux présents

Small rooms but a decent bed directly across from the trail down to the lake. The staff was friendly and helpful. Remember you’re at 12,000 ft so it’s going to be a little chilly. There is a wood stove in the room, but while we never lit a fire, I’m confident that stove would have that room very hot in just a few minutes, which is why we didn’t use it. The bed had some very heavy blankets so we weren’t cold. We were the only guests, but I can imagine that if folks were drinking and carrying on in the sala it could be a tough night as all the rooms open to the sala.

A notre arrivée nous avons eu l'impression de déranger le service des deux tables du restaurant, dont les clients baignaient dans une fumée de plancha ou barbecue... La réception nous a juste indiqué notre chambre sans plus et nous a demandé de payer en avance alors que nous avions réservé des semaines avant et que nous étions les seuls clients de l'hôtel. Le soir venu nous avons demandé à pouvoir manger au restaurant, malgré sa volonté de ne pas nous servir (il pensait sans doute pouvoir fermer avant l'heure) le cuisinier nous a expliqué que la carte du menu était réduite à pas grand chose. Sa bonne volonté était néanmoins présente mais l'attente longue car il a tout cuisiné seul.

I'm sorry to read all the negative reviews on here! We had the best meal of our trip at Hosteria Chukirawa after hiking part of the Quilotoa rim: fresh lamb stew, chicken stew, plantains, veggies, large jug of narajilla juice (our favorite) and canelazo (sweet hot alcoholic drink), all for $17.50! The service was efficient and kind; they even gifted us two little alpaca keychains. We did not see the rooms but saw many people checking in. Do give them a try for a meal!

Very nice receptionist, she spoke English, which we appreciated. Decent room. Big enough for two people, hot water in the shower. Good dinner and breakfast. Suggestion: post the bus schedule in or near the hotel. It is on a board down near the village entrance.
