AI Summary
Convenient location near city center and bus station, with friendly 24/7 staff. Well-equipped kitchens and spacious lounges. However, small rooms and poor soundproofing cause discomfort for some guests.

I had high expectations after staying at the Haka House in Wanaka which were not met. This branch is merely a big old house turned into hostel. the room was small, dark and smelly.Only positive things were location and helpfulf staff.

I stayed at a cheap accommodation since I was only going to stay for two days because of the Milford tour the next day. (For Queenstown...) Of course, it was inconvenient because the bathroom was separate, but the kitchen view was so pretty that I forgot all about it. I recommend this to those who don't want to spend a lot of money on accommodation!

The worst one in the Haka series. 1. Bed safety hazards. There is a big gap between the upper bunk and the wall. In the middle of the night, something from the upper bunk fell and hit me. It was a heavy conversion charging head. I was afraid that something would fall again. I was too scared to continue sleeping on the bed. . I contacted the store clerk, who said they couldn't change beds because there was no room available, and asked me to stay on the sofa in the lobby. 2. Employees have substandard professional skills, lie and are lazy. There was clearly an empty room that night, not even an empty bed. I stayed in the lobby until about 8 o'clock when I started working. They appealed again and then they changed my room. When I entered the newly changed room at 8 o'clock in the morning, no one was in the room. The bedding was all neatly rolled up. The health staff did not start tidying up in the morning, which meant that the room had been unoccupied since last night. status, but because the clerk didn't want to get up or make arrangements, he asked the customer to stay in the lobby in the middle of the night. At the same time, when checking in at the beginning, it was obvious that the clerk lacked professional skills and wanted to deal with customers. When I entered the room at that time, I found that there were three empty beds, two lower bunks and one upper bunk. However, the Asian clerk did not ask the customer if he wanted to choose an upper bunk or a lower bunk like the clerks at other Haka series youth hostels, but directly Arrangements for customers. They were reluctant to let the customer make a choice even after the customer requested it. The clerk's original words at the time said it was very difficult. Later, the bed was changed with the help of other store employees. The management of Haka Lodge Queenstown is chaotic, the bed facilities are old, and the bathroom and washroom arrangements are unreasonable. It is the worst youth hostel and I do not recommend it to everyone.

The location is very good, it is very convenient to go anywhere, the whole city is within walking distance, but the house is average, there is a road under construction in front of the door, it is not easy to walk, the room is so small that it is difficult to open a large box, the sound insulation is 0, I feel like my floor is going to collapse when going up and down the stairs, the toilet and bathroom are shared, the service attitude is still very good, the people are very polite, gentle and enthusiastic. In conclusion, it is recommended for the convenience of the location, but it is definitely not for accommodation. I, who did not wake up in a magnitude 6 earthquake and a magnitude 8 typhoon, could only fall asleep in his house with earplugs.

The location is very convenient, near the bus stop and very close to walking to the cable car or to the lake. The house is old, so you can hear the sound of walking and bathing, and the sound insulation effect is very poor, but the public space is generally clean, the room is small, and the suitcase is difficult to open properly.

Perfect small and clean backpacker hostel. You can walk to the city in 5 minutes but if you want to relax you don't have to worry about party noise. David and his team are very friendly and helpful. I can only recommend it.
