Hotel Relais Charles-Alexandre

We spent 3 nights at the hotel from 9/11 to 9/14. The evening of our first night we found half our luggage sitting in a large pool of water that had apparently leaked from the AC unit onto the floor. We alerted the front desk and the solution was towels on the floor to contain the leaking water. This remained the solution for the duration of our stay as the issue was never resolved. We had an additional leak from the bathroom sink which left a puddle of water directly in front of the toilet. This was also never resolved during our stay. And finally, our vehicle was sideswiped in the paid for hotel parking spot in back on Thursday. The tight spots and close proximity of the building behind the spots probably make it 50/50 if your vehicle will be hit by another vehicle. They have camera screens at the front desk pointed at the parking lot but were told the manager wouldn't be able to review footage until Monday - no explanation provided for this delay. We finally got a call on Tuesday 9/17 from the assistant manager saying he couldn't review the tapes - no explanation provided. We asked that he review all of the issues we encountered with the manager and we asked for an email response. None came. Instead we got a call saying nothing would be done and our insurance would have to cover the damage to the car. We were strung along for weeks. Of course insurance will not cover the damage, I will pay until the deductible is met. Very disrespectful assistant manager and manager. We visit QC every September but will never stay here again.

We had a lovely time here at the hotel and was graciously welcomed later as we didn’t read the booking email for the instructions left for us. However they came and helped us park and get in. A terrific location to walk to old Quebec City and other tourists spots like citadel and plains of Abraham. A modest continental breakfast is served. Our room was number 12 so upstairs and it was quite quaint and spacious. Bed was comfy. Recommend definitely.

Nice little hotel. Seems well maintained and well run. The continental breakfast was adequate and the dining room was cute. The room was small but charming with antique furniture to match the feel of the building (a victorian era manor). Clean and comfortable.

Straits too high to first or second floor, too tight to go up with luggage, no room service compared to daily high rate charge. Left messages to get informations before reserving but no return calls. Fees for parking wasn't mentionned while reserving, it says only parking available.
