My 5 stars goes to the apartments not Vilamoura itself. One of the best 3 star hotels we have stayed in A credit to the cleaners from the apartments to the public areas all spotless. Free air con included Rooms large and spacious, hob and microwave but no oven. Pool is freezing even in July but lovely once your dunked in! Plenty of sun beds. Spar around 5 mins walk. Use Uber much cheaper than local taxis reception will tell you not to use but just ignore we had no issue in 10 days , Uber for up to 4 people around 5 euros we got dropped off at restaurant il trio and walked down the steps to the harbour . Turn right by the Irish bar use the steps to the right this will bring you to a lovely square of restaurants. Vilamoura itself looks the part but I would not return. Look up and you will see the massage parlours and the **** supermarket, up the side and back streets you will see the gentlemen’s clubs and massage parlours with an atm conveniently situated outside of each. Although this will cause you no problems I couldn’t help but notice the girls outside the massage parlour, drunken men leaving barely able to walk never mind anything else ! On the back and side streets the girls do stand in the doorway calling to the men as they walk past, this will cause you no bother as they are spaced out and it’s done very discreetly, I just find it contradicts what Vilamoura claims to be. It’s easy to just ignore it and not see it if you choose not to. I’m sure it is happens everywhere I’ve just never noticed it before. The marina is lovely, food expensive nice for a few drinks sat overlooking the marina. Would never return though.

Would highly recommend staying here, staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel is cleaned every day to a high standard. Food was excellent always different meals to choose from, fresh fruit and amazing deserts. Room on 7th floor had a great view, very comfortable too. Very close to a beautiful beach, lots of shops, with plenty of lovely places to walk. Just perfect!!!!

Before heading out to Portugal I was in regular contact with the hotel and they we're very prompt and helpful with my queries. They also organised transport from the airport which was €45 for the two of us, however, on the return journey, it was €55 as it was before 8am - something we were not advised if up front. (We later learned that you could organise an Uber or transport direct from the airport for around €25-€30, so it pays to do more research beforehand). Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by lovely, courteous staff and was told we had been given a room upgrade (we had booked a 2 bed apartment with balcony and this was upgraded to one of their 2 bed terraced apartments) - WOW! I shed a tear when we found the terrace!  The hotel also accommodated our request to be away from nightly entertainment noise - so grateful for that! The apartment was huge, clean and was very well kitted out - full kitchen, crockery, cutlerty, cooking equipment, fridge with mini freezer, hob, microwave, kettle etc, lovely lounge/diner area and two huge bedrooms, one with ensuite, and another bathroom. The usual liquid soap, shampoo/ bodywash and  conditioner all supplied by the hotel. There are 4 USB ports in each bedroom and also a 2 x 3 pin plug sockets. The hotel is situated on a busy road, and depending on where your room is, this may be an issue. Soundproofing in the apartment itself is very good i.e. I couldn't hear my husband's snoring, but even with patio doors/windows shut, traffic and outside noise is very evident (even though they're double glazed).   I found the mattress very hard, and after chasing Reception twice, a soft mattress topper was provided, which helped a lot. I had an issue with a loose toilet seat and this was promptly sorted by maintenance. Housekeeping - towels and bed linen changed every 3 days.  Bottle of water supplied every day - they will provide more if required.  We booked all inclusive and found, like a lot of previous reviews, the food to be disappointing.  It was lukewarm and sometimes very dried out.  There wasn't a huge selection of salads, desserts or mains (2 different meats, 2 fish, rice, a pasta dish, some potatoes, kids section with fish fingers, nuggets, chips etc and a vegan section with 4 dishes) and as a last resort, you could have pizza if nothing took your fancy, which happened on several occasions. Soups were mostly fish or bean/barley based but there was a nice tomato and a carrot/pumpkin soup which was nice. Desserts were never named, and a lot of the cakes contained nuts so for those with allergens, I would recommend you ask the kitchen staff as to what's in the desserts before you tuck in. There was always fresh fruit and cheese and biscuits too (again, this never varied). There was a small selection of bread and rolls, which remained the same choice throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a 3 star hotel this is excellent. We had to check out of our villa at 10am - but with a late evening flight home we needed somewhere to dump our cases and enjoy a pool somewhere for the day. We booked this (had to phone due to strange check in/out that we needed) we booked the room from 10am-7pm , obviously we had to be charged for the full day (80 euros) what a bargain! We weren't expecting much but we are pleasantly surprised (writing this sat by the peaceful pool ). Room is large and very clean - can't vouch for.comfort of bed as we won't be sleeping in them). This would make a great, value for money, base and you wouldn't be disappointed with pool and bar - we were feeling a bit deflated coming from a beautiful villa with private pool to a small hotel - but we love it! Staff are very helpful and friendly. If your looking for a good value hotel - this is it!

There are relatively few buses in the Albufeira area, so it is still suitable for self-driving. The hotel has free parking, and the receptionist at the front desk is very enthusiastic and meticulous, introducing the surrounding attractions in detail. The size of the room is suitable, but the ventilation system is not very good and the room feels damp. The breakfast is very good, including fruit cake, smooth eggs, yogurt, etc., very rich.

We had a decent holiday but our accommodation could not be described as 4 star.We were allocated 036 supposedly a superior apartment, we requested overlooking the pool and away from the road but that didn't happen.The apartment must be privately owned and rented out as most of the storage cupboards were locked.The apartment was in poor condition, door handles coming off,smoke alarm broken off,no cushions very basic and spartan.Wi fi non existant. Cleaning didn't happen every two days as stated in the info leaflet. We have been to Clube Albufeira several times but the service has deteriorated. No shuttle bus,no help with luggage and it is very hilly,not very user friendly. We have had some good holidays here but we won't be going again.aIts a shame .

The hotel is situated a short walk from the centre of Loule. It is a nice, clean hotel with lovely decor and friendly staff. Our room was big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of choice and was tasty. The only real drawback is the view from our room was uninspiring. Overall, I would definitely stay again and would recommend it.

Was couple nights spent in Alte Hotel. I am so happy. Lovely stuff ,kind, friendly. Special want to say big thank you to Reception girl Patricia Also Waitress Jenny and another lovely guy, can't remember name. They absolutely amazing. Food in hotel fresh and really tasty. The housekeeping stuff was lovely too. Thank you, Thank you 10_10. Will go definitely again. Really Recommend this lovely place xx

It’s a good hotel near everything. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you can find a good deal, it’s definitely recommended. Just the bathroom leaks a lot when showering, which can be annoying if you’re staying many nights.
