Salman Zwaidh Camp

My experience at this Camp was amazing, please go there! The service is so so friendly and they offer all authentic desert, beduin experiences. From sleeping in a bubble, in a tend or a cave, to spending a night under the stars and seeing the milky way. They offer jeeptours, camelrides and nighthikes. You can visit all the famous Wadi Rum sights and see the sunset over the same place StarWars, Dune and the Marisian were filmed at. The food is amazing and is suitable for vegans, vegetarians and meeteaters. They serve traditional arabic beduin food. The rooms are clean, with an own bathroom, a big panoramic window and AC. I truly recommend going here I felt welcome and the people were so kind!

Great location deep in the Wadi, away from light pollution.. nice to do the stargazing.. Dinner cooked under ground was amazing .. activities are good too.. I love their Martian Tents ..jeep tour and camel ride and even night tour for camp fire and star gazing was great..

My stay at Salman Zawaideh Camp was truly unforgettable. The location is absolutely astounding—far more secluded than other camps I noticed in the area, which makes it feel like you’re the only ones in the vast desert. I went on a jeep tour during my stay, and it was incredible. The team knows all the best photo spots and made the experience so much fun from start to finish. The food at the camp was exceptional—authentic, plentiful, and bursting with flavor. I also had all the tea I could ever want, which was the perfect companion to the cozy evenings spent around the campfire with the team. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and offered breathtaking views of this special place. If you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Wadi Rum, I couldn’t recommend Salman Zawaideh Camp more highly.

Without a doubt the best positioned camp in all of Wadi Rum. (I’ve done 3 desert tours and seen locations of other camps and I came to this conclusion). It is only about a 10 minute drive to the main Wadi Rum Village, but far enough in the desert and off the tourist track of the jeep tours. That means it is very quiet and peaceful. No one passes by here so you have this section of the desert to yourself. I highly recommend staying here. The staff is also very friendly and ready to help you with anything. The host Salman is eager to organize any trips or forward travel for you. Plus the food is tasty! The fire, tea, Shisha, and stars is the perfect touch to an authentic Bedouin experience.

We have lived in Jordan for 3 years with our four young children and have had 2 night stays here each year, after this camp was recommended by friends. If you want to camp out in the desert with all the luxuries of a five star hotel, then this is not the camp for you, but if you want to get away from it all and experience total peace and quiet this place is magical. You get rooms with en-suite facilities, meals are provided and tours can be arranged by camel or 4x4 but everything is kept simple. This is not a place for loud parties, it is tucked away and you hear nothing from other camps. They are very friendly and accommodating and most importantly Salman is a man of his word - we agree on the price for the stay ahead of time including meals and that is what you pay, there are no surprises the same with the tours what you are told is what you pay and you are not pushed to do anything, it is very much led by what you would like to do. As a family there is plenty for the kids to explore from climbing rocks and playing in sand dunes and the location feels secluded and safe. The quiet at sunrise and the darkness at night so you can watch the stars is something else, there is no place quite like it, which is why come and the simplicity of the camp means we can enjoy these aspects. I highly recommend this place and we hope to visit every year for as long as we are in Jordan!

Very cool place. Deep into the desert, some of the other camps are close together/ by the road. The staff are lovely - don’t forget to check out the stars at night! They have two friendly cats and goats even! The rooms are great, highly recommend!
