Steigenberger Alcazar

A wonderful 12 days in a great resort, with wonderful staff, especially Sami in the main dining area. The adult pool and bar boys could not have been any more obliging. Ahmed, the lifeguard, was so helpful when the waves were rather bigger than expected.

First I would like to say don't join the Steigenberger guest Facebook group. I hope the management of the hotel get the site shut down. We are currently staying at the hotel and I believe tripadvisor on the whole is the place to come for reviews. This hotel is one of the best I have stayed at and would definitely recommend it. I will start with the amazing staff. They all work so hard from the cleaners, gardeners, bar staff, reception the whole team. Thank you keep up the great work. The rooms are lovely with lots of space. Mini fridge which was all free but just check as I know its not free for everyone. Grounds are just so lovely and so clean. The swim up pool we had was in the shade most of the day but I think all the swim up pools are like this. The main pools are all lovely and we have been by the middle pool and it's a little cold when you first get in but after 30 seconds it's fine. The food has been lovely and lots of choice but it's the A la carte restaurants that make this hotel really stand out. As all inclusive we could book 5 restaurants in our stay free of charge. A lot of staff are very friendly and so helpful. Drinks are very good and if you want a drink it's quicker to go to the bar yourself were service is 1st class. Breakfast is lovely and you help yourself to what ever you want with a great choice. Drinks you can get yourself or you may have to wait. But service was always really good. Would highly recommend this hotel. To the management team have a read of the Facebook group some very hasty people on this group who are not being fair about how good this hotel really is.

Hotel was amazing. Very helpful staff at reception especially Hossam Helal, he went above and beyond to make special holiday. Hotel grounds were immaculate. We stayed in swim up room which was very peaceful. Restaurants are great good food and clean. Will definitely be returning.

Hotel clean and rooms and ground tidy. Service was ok not the best and in restaurants that are bookable was terrible. We booked the Japanese restaurant and were in there for over two hours because of slow service and were offered 1 drink during this time. We was sat with dirty plates for over 30 minutes and I had to ask for the plates to be cleared and to my shock out of 4 adults only 1 was cleared and 3 left for another 10 minutes. Buffett food was ok warm but not hot and selection was the same each day. Again service poor sat waiting for a hot drink at breakfast for 15-20 minutes and again on the evening left with dirty plates while eating dessert just unacceptable especially when you can see the hotel is not and full capacity. If you want a decent sun bed in the right spot be prepared to get up early. Most decent places were taken by 7am and then some not used till at least 11am again unacceptable. Would I return to this hotel absolutely not we have stayed in sharm many times and paid less for better hotels.
