It was a wonderful and exceptional stay start from welcoming receptionist,clean room with fantastic view clean beach, many spots for snorkeling. Professional and friendly staff. Food is perfect. I will back again for sure at next vacation.

Think Twice Before Booking: Steigenberger Resort Marsa Alam I want to share my experience during a stay at the Steigenberger Hotel in Marsa Alam. The resort itself is beautiful, well-kept, and has everything you'd expect from a five-star hotel. However, everything changed when I had a medical emergency. One night, I became very sick from diarrhea. I passed out in the bathroom, hit my head hard, and ended up with a 5 cm wound. We immediately called the front desk, and they sent a doctor to our room. He took me to a small medical room on the resort. That’s when things got really bad. Without asking many questions, they put me on an IV—something that now seems like it was mostly done to charge more money. The doctor said I needed stitches, but they couldn’t do it there because they didn’t have the right tools. I was put into a car and driven to a hospital called MEDPARK Hospitals in a town called Al Qusier, about an hour away. When I arrived, I had to walk into the hospital by myself, even though I felt really weak and dizzy. The hospital was very dirty—there was urine on the floor, broken equipment, and the bed they put me on clearly hadn’t been cleaned. They gave me five stitches in a room that didn’t look clean at all, and they used almost full anesthesia, which seemed extreme for such a small wound. It took 45 minutes. Right after the procedure, I told them I needed the toilet. Even though I was still half out of it from the *****, they made me walk by myself to the bathroom. The toilet was so filthy I ended up peeing in the sink. Then they wrapped my head so tightly that it cut off the blood flow to my brain. This caused extreme dizziness, a feeling like I was going to pass out again, and constant vomiting. They kept giving me more painkillers and other fluids through the IV without really explaining anything. About an hour and a half later, they finally removed the bandage, and I felt better almost immediately. Then they told me the bill was €12,000. In a panic, I pulled out all the tubes and ran out of the hospital. I escaped by taxi and made it back to the resort through the desert. When I told the hotel what happened, I asked how it’s possible that a five-star resort works with a doctor who sends people to such a dangerous hospital—especially when there’s a local hospital just 2 km away. The manager said they’re not responsible, because the doctor just rents space at the hotel and acts on his own. They claimed they have no control over what the doctor does. I find it hard to believe that a hotel of this level is okay with putting their guests at risk like this. Until something goes wrong, it’s a great place. But if you ever need medical help, you’re completely on your own—and that’s scary. So in short: nice resort, but if you get sick or injured, things can go very, very wrong.
