Arwana Perhentian Resort

The resort is located on a very long and quiet beach and, even if it is a bit disconcerting at first, it is the ideal place for those who want to spend a few days in total relaxation. The complex is spread over a fairly large area and offers various accommodations on the seafront. We booked one of these and it was really worth it. The room has a beautiful window overlooking the beach and, in the morning, waking up with the sound of the sea in the background is priceless. The room is quite comfortable, a small living room with a sofa and armchair, a bathroom and a bedroom. Outside, a small patio with two chairs and a small table. The bed is comfortable, quite large, the power outlets are convenient. However, we did not like some things: starting with the bathroom which gave off a very bad smell of stagnant water and also persistent. We had to keep the door closed otherwise the bad smell spread to the rest of the room. In general, there was a lot of humidity throughout the bathroom, so much so that the various aluminum accessories had several rusty spots. The shower provided very little water, and to have hot water you had to turn on a second shower head. Externally, one of the two chairs was broken. Finally, there was a generator right behind the room and therefore the noise was very loud even inside, with the doors closed. The services offered by the resort are quite extensive. The restaurant is mediocre, in terms of choice and quality of food. Many of the drinks are not available, many dishes on the menu are “out of stock”… but it is understandable considering that you are on an island. The pool is very large and beautiful even if not very clean. The deck chairs are few and also broken. In conclusion, the real strong point of the resort is the staff and the location. The rest can be improved, there is a lot of potential and if only they took more care of it, there would be nothing to envy to more renowned brand resorts.

The hotel is very nice from the outside, the whole cabins and the pool are spectacular. However, all this is spoiled by the rest. The lack of cleanliness in the hotel is very great, you have to ask for your room to be cleaned daily at reception, which would not be a problem if they did it. Of the 6 days we were there, they only cleaned it for us two even though we asked in the morning. On the other hand, every night, we had problems with the water in the shower, which did not come out, it was cut off, etc. The only solution from the hotel was to tell us to wait, and one of the times, they took us to another room to shower. In other words, they treated the customer very badly, since every time we complained they washed their hands, they did not give a solution and on top of that they had an arrogant attitude. We paid for this hotel because it was a higher category one in the Perhentian Islands, since there are much cheaper options, but it completely disappointed us. The buffet breakfast is not very varied or good either, as it is not designed for international tourists but rather for locals.

The hotel was well located but it lacked services like room service, the restaurants were not open so no choice. The room service was not there: no towels, no mini fridge. The air conditioning was impossible to adjust. The beach was beautiful, the view was magnificent.

The facilities are poorly maintained, breakfast has few options but lunch and dinner and the service is very good!

Ho soggiornato per 3 notti all' Arwana durante il mese di agosto. La struttura è grande e tenuta abbastanza bene (durante il mio soggiorno la piscina non era accessibile per 3 giorni per manutenzione). Per quanto riguarda l' argomento cibo non mi sento di dare la stessa valutazione. Prenotando l opzione delle cene a buffet, mi sono sentita presa in giro. La prima sera mi sono seduta al tavolo e mi hanno servito piatti imposti da loro (pollo, calamaretti, noodles, pesce, riso bianco) di cui la qualità non arrivava alla sufficienza ed essendo tutti "Spicy" non ho potuto mangiare nulla; la seconda sera hanno fatto la cena a buffet per la quantità di gente presente al ristorante, e sembrava che il problema fosse stato risolto, nonostante la perseveranza di offrire i soliti piatti serviti la sera precedente; la terza ed ultima cena si è ripetuta la stessa scena della prima sera con gli stessi identici piatti imposti. Mi sono rifiutata di mangiarli e ho fatto presente più volte di aver prenotato un altro tipo di cena Consiglio l' arwana per la struttura, anche se per la pulizia delle camere ho sempre dovuto chiedere il cambio asciugamani giornaliero e solo una volta sono venuti in camera per rifare i letti; per il cibo è un posto da evitare se possibile.
