Samudra beach chalet is cheap but this is reflected in the quality of the accommodation which is poor. We had a beachfront chalet which is in dire need of updating. The bed was firm and comfortable but the nylon sheet and one blanket to cover you was not great. The bathroom is a wet room that didn’t drain away & the sink leaks. We had a beautiful beachfront view with two plastic chairs but no where to dry towels etc. It has its own restaurant which was fine, it does not serve alcohol but we knew that in advance. A big negative for us was the lack of Wifi, we didn’t have any for the whole time we were there and there was no time scale for it to be repaired. Unfortunately there was little to no phone signal either. Although we appreciate there are times it is good to be away from everything, we needed WiFi to book ongoing travel. We ended up going on one of the jungle trails to another part of the island to get connected; the jungle trail we took involved a lot of climbing but it was fun and most people would manage it. The second main negative was the awful state of properties nearby which looked very run down and were full of rubbish; although we noted there was some work being done on a larger resort so it may well be due to it being the start of the season. So, if you want cheap basic accommodation away from it all then this is for you!

When you read reviews and look for indications on cleanliness (as I usually do) and you read that this resort is not 100% clean because there is sand in the room or ants, well, before judging think about this: some rooms have direct access to the beach so it is possible that there is sand brought directly from us. Ants? If you leave biscuits or food in general they arrive otherwise... Not received. Room with bathroom equipped with A/C, balcony and two chairs. Spartan but dignified. Friendly staff. Breakfast for a fee (cheap prices) with a good choice. Small shop next to the reception where you can buy things + possibility to book excursions (cheaper rate). Large beach. In the evening there are small restaurants that set up on the beach. Samudra accepts credit cards (an element not to be underestimated)!

Nous avons été très mal accueillis par la personne de la réception ! Il nous a pas aidé pour porter nos valises et donné aucun renseignements ! Les chambres ne sont pas confortables: douches froides et beaucoup de fourmis dans la salle de bain. Nous entendons également tous les bruits des voisons! Je ne recommande pas! Seul point positif : belle plage!

Rooms are not the best of your life, but work in case you just want to sleep. They are in front of the sea. What I wouldn’t recommend is the restaurant: 1h waiting time for your order and they don’t care to close the kitchen (without notice) although you are still with your starters. Definitely, not a good choice.

I’ve booked with boat trip, meals and snorkeling and i found they have the cheapest among all. They served the food and the qty given is a lot too! I had a good time with fam here. The water consider shallow and i am not worry when my children snorkeling here. They had clean beach and quite peacefull too. Twice visit and still satisfy for budget staying. Will definitely come back here for longer trip and i like quite and calming beach.

No air conditioning in the rooms. There is indeed a "fan" that does not make wind. We actually had to sleep on the floor because it was cooler than the bed! It's like sleeping in a sauna. In concrete terms, we didn't sleep during our stay... When we talk to the staff about it, the only reaction is to laugh and answer that they can't do anything. Otherwise the room is infested with ants…. The staff is not friendly and barely speaks to you even when you talk to them… Avoid absolutely! Only positive point: the frame is very good
