Lakestone Lodge

Very nice lodge, except that the room is a bit small. We enjoyed our time there! Will recommend to friends and families!

The Lakestone Lodge is, hands-down, one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The views are incomparable (the rooms and dining room all look over Lake Pukaki and towards Aoraki/Mt Cook in the distance), and I’d challenge anyone to find more inviting accommodations. Every employee we interacted with was delightful, and a few even took extra time to give me yarn store recommendations. Our room was comfortably furnished, and full of light. There was ample space to store our bags, and the bathroom was very nice. We even had a mostly private patio with chairs to enjoy the sun and the views. The BEST part of our stay was 100% the meals. We did the 3 night package, and both breakfast and dinner were included. I have a lot of food allergies, and the chef was very thoughtful and careful to prepare food that was safe for me to eat. Every single meal we ate was divine. The ingredients are local and fresh, and the flavors were fantastic. I don’t even have enough words to describe how wonderful the food is. It may be a remote location, but you’ll swear you’re eating at a Michelin-starred restaurant. We also did the night sky activity, which was very informative and a special way to end our stay. The Lakestone Lodge is an absolute MUST for anyone traveling to the Aoraki/Mt Cook region of NZ!!

Lakestone is the best hotel in NZ in my opinion. The staff is great and always taking care of their guests. The food is wonderful and they have the best views. If you want to hike or bike this is a great base camp. If you just want to sit back and enjoy the view there is not a. Better place to do it.

Lakestone Lodge is a wonderful experience. A breathtakingly beautiful setting from a luxury lodge with great food and outstanding service. Nothing was too much trouble and our four nights went far too quickly. This should be on any South Island itinerary. The Lodge is also seriously underpriced relative to other luxury offerings, so get in quick before Mike changes his mind on pricing!

Turned up in our old porche in the snow and Mike the host had cleared the snow and escorted us up the drive. The whole experience of this place is beautiful including the surroundings, scenery, food, wine, suites, bed and dreamy pillows and of course the service. Thank you team Lakestone. We will be back

After a longish drive from Queenstown, delightful to pull up to this estate overlooking Lake Pukaki. The views are beyond stunning. Neat features abound at the lodge. delightful to have a welcoming cocktail / mocktail. Food was exceptionally delish. roasted veg soup w truffle oil and olive shavings. Vennison for main course. staff very attentive and engaging. Lodge has a very indulgent feel yet is low key as well. Overnight the magnificent view disappeared as we got hit by a snow storm. Breakfast was excellent! Lodge egg benedict was superb, staff helped clean our car off before we headed off. would have been good to stay here more days in good weather
