I must give to this hotel a very negative review, because the owner - Abraham is a young man, but experienced liar and thief. I arrived at the property on December 1st, and I stayed there from 5pm to 7:30 pm, I met Abraham in this property at 7pm, but he did not allow me to stay in the room. He cancelled my reservation on the next day and reported to ***********, that I did not show up on December 2 or I walked away from the hotel. As a result, I paid for 7 days of this booking in advance, but the room was not provided. *********** could not fix this issue of stealing reservations and money by Abraham. You should stay away from such wonderful hotel and service.

I liked the thought of an apartment style experience for the trip with my daughter. I didn’t expect to have a landlord dispute for a three night stay. We left within the first hour. First, it’s on a noisy street. Not the fault of the landlord, but be aware. Upon arrival I retrieved my keys from the lockbox and entered the first security door. Got my key ready for the second security door and it was already open. Up to the flat. The bedroom was small, but the bed seemed nice. A/c worked as did the fan. The bathroom was enclosed in glass off the bedroom so privacy is an issue. The shower is even more of an open space in the middle of the hallway. Hope you celebrate the human form of your traveling companions. You’ll be seeing a lot of it. The kitchen was designed in the style of late hippie. All of the above is something one should consider when staying somewhere but not anything more than that. The real issue is what followed. The listing says 4 adults. One king bed and one futon. The futon would barely fit two adults if they didn’t move. But we only needed two different beds for two people so it could work. But there was no bedding for the second bed. Then we noticed that the fan didn’t work in the front area. The front windows could open, but then the noise is worse. And one of the windows was already cracked with a hole. The glass doors leading to a common hallway (listed as a patio) were locked but installed in such a way that they could be opened with a wiggle. I texted the owner and he said he could get me some sheets tomorrow, so we were without for the first night. He said I could open a window if the fan didn’t work. He didn’t seem to want to do anything to make his guests feel welcome. He wouldn’t discuss refund. We had to take a 50% loss to cancel the booking and I am now in a dispute over it. Great way to start a vacation. I wonder if the owner ever sees this place. My suggestion is to avoid this place at all costs.

Immediately disappointing upon arrival. No staffing, you check in by going to a lockbox to get your key. Room was dirty, toilet did not work, no soap, no hot water, broken towel rack and generally run down. Promptly reported issues to owner via text and documented in photos, he was no help, he claimed he checked the room personally and it was perfect. Additionally its noisy at night, loud cars, loud stereos, drunks, and a street fight. Found it to be uninhabitable and left after one sleepless night (even though we had paid for 3 non-refundable). Owner can't help exterior noise, but because the room was so bad inside we asked for a partial refund, to which he was non-responsive. Worse yet, he reported us to the website we booked through as a no-show so we were blocked from leaving a review there. Check the other reviews, isn't it odd that TripAdvisor has ones with big warnings and that other company (based in Netherlands) has mostly good ones? Would like to be kind, but there this was such a unpleasant experience we hope to save you from going though it.

Customer service was amazing! Abraham was quick with responding to any of my questions and was very helpful. I highly recommend staying at Casa Maria Malecon as it is literally feet away from all the amazing spots in PV! I literally walked everywhere without a problem. I will use Casa Maria Malecon in the future as I loved Puerto Vallarta so much!
