For the money it’s all right. The elevator didn’t work for some reason. And if you have an apartment in the middle, you have to walk quite a lot to get there. 

Arrived very late, reception staff friendly. We were all inclusive so were nicely surprised to have a microwave and fridge. Drainage poor in shower, but we were fully aware of this before we arrived so didn't let it spoil our holiday unlike some. Bathroom in particular needed updating. Room large, no air con. Asked reception for a unit that we were willing to pay for to be told there weren't any available, so we had to hire one from an outside company. Cleaners in regularly with clean towels and to make the beds. Only 1 cockroach found in room, no ants. Food was OK. Breakfast was the best. Lunch and evening meal were very repetitive (typical all inclusive) and VERY poorly labeled. Staff very attentive and quick to ask what drinks you wanted with your meal and quick to take away used plates. Some bar staff were abrupt at times, but there was a young man who was alway polite and smiling when he served you (I think his name was Kevin?) And Pedro was our favourite....very funny. Animation team work very hard day and night, Maddie was great! The man who decided when the pool was to be opened was very inconsistent with his times. Some days he'd open at 7.30am, some days he'd angrily tell you 'NO, 9am!' So we were never quite sure when to arrive, resulting in sometimes sitting for over an hour waiting for him to give you the nod. This obviously lead to lots of people queuing up for loungers, and running when it opened. This is an accident waiting to happen as there is not alot of room to manoeuvre, and the floor tiles can become very slippy when wet... I witnessed quite a nasty fall from someone at the beginning of my holiday. Music round the pool is very repetitive and it's the same EVERY DAY. This seems like a petty complaint, but spending the day around the pool listening to the same music over and over can be very tiresome. I have seen many reviews that have said the same as me, but nothing seems to change and I don't understand why the hotel aren't taking the comments on board. Adult only pool looked great, but we had a 15year old with us so couldn't use it.....and at 25euro each, it saved us quite alot of money. As expected before our arrival, lots of steps in the hotel, quite difficult to get suitcases and air con units up and down. Lifts quite temperamental and often only one works...sometimes they break down with people inside.

This place is a complete joke and should honestly be shut down. Servatur Riosol Hotel is by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had — and I’ve stayed in some rough places before. Let’s start with the cockroaches in the room. Yes, actual cockroaches crawling around where we were supposed to sleep. Add to that the mould-covered walls, dead flies, and filthy pillowcases — and it’s clear they don’t give a damn about hygiene. When we complained, they just gave us new sheets and expected us to change the bed ourselves. Are you kidding? Despite our booking confirming a fan in the room, there wasn’t one. We asked six damn times and kept getting fobbed off. Only thanks to Edgar — the ONE decent staff member there — who gave us his personal fan, were we able to breathe in the boiling room. Everyone else was rude, lazy, or just outright didn’t care. Now for the bed bugs. Yep — BED BUGS. In the corner of the room. I had to threaten to leave and sleep elsewhere before they even considered giving us another room. And guess what? The “new” room was only for one night, and then they told us we’d have to be out by 7am and beg again for a room — otherwise, we’d be back sleeping with the bed bugs. Disgraceful. Even the receptionist didn’t know where the new room was — she got lost trying to find it at 1AM. That about sums up the whole place: no one knows what the hell they’re doing. Let’s keep going: • Lifts broke down constantly • Dirty pool, broken chairs • No clean towels unless you pay – you only get the crusty ones they give you on day one • Cleaners don’t clean – just change beds (barely) • Holes in the balcony door, lifted tiles that are an accident waiting to happen • And the majority of staff? Rude, unhelpful, and full of attitude Also broken lights above your head while you sleep which open wires. This hit us in the face multiple times and we couldn’t turn it on without the fear of being electrocuted. We complained on day one, and they did absolutely nothing. No apology, no fix, just shrugged us off like we were a problem for daring to expect basic cleanliness and safety. Only Edgar deserves credit for even pretending to care. The rest of them should find a new job — preferably far away from hospitality. Avoid this dump at all costs. Sleeping outside would’ve been cleaner, friendlier, and less stressful. If you’re thinking about booking here — don’t. You’ll regret it.

I have never experienced such appalling conditions in any hotel as I did at Rio Sol Gran Canaria. This stay was a complete nightmare for my family and me, and I strongly advise others to avoid this property. Here’s what we faced: Cockroach and Bug Infestation: Our room was crawling with pests. A live cockroach ran across the room and even onto the bed as soon as we arrived. There were dead cockroaches in the bedding, bed bugs in the mattress, and ants in the bathroom. Absolutely disgusting! Filthy Room: The room was filthy from the start. There was an ashtray full of cigarette butts, stained robes, chewing gum inside the wardrobe, and rubbish piled up. The smell was unbearable. The sofa bed was so stained it was unusable. Unsafe for Children: Electrical wires were exposed and hanging from the walls. A wire box was loose at child level, and lights were falling off the walls. A serious electrocution hazard! Injury and Illness: My 9-year-old sliced his finger on a broken pool ladder, and despite reporting it, nothing was done. To make things worse, my son also became ill with diarrhea after eating their cold, poor-quality food. Staff Attitude: When we raised these issues, the reception staff and a waiter laughed at us. The manager, Vanessa, was rude and completely unhelpful. They did nothing to fix the situation. Second Room Was No Better: We were moved to another room, but it was still dirty, unsafe, and the safe didn’t work, meaning we couldn’t secure our belongings. My children (ages 9 and 12) were in tears from the filth and bugs. We ended up leaving and paying for another hotel at our own expense. This hotel ruined our holiday. I have full photo evidence of everything listed above and will be escalating this to health authorities. DO NOT STAY HERE – it is unsafe, unhygienic, and a total disgrace!

The animation team and the waiting staff were amazing. So much fun with acquacise and the quiz nights, Maddy was fantastic!!

The apartments are very hot (unbearable). We rented for 4 people, two in the bedroom and two in the living room. I went to reception to ask for a fan, where they told me that we were only entitled to one per apartment. I had to buy a fan, and even then the heat is unbearable. The whole hotel has many cockroaches, including in the apartment. The restaurant has no air conditioning or ventilation; the heat is unbearable, and the food sits out in the heat for hours. Very bad indeed. An experience not to be repeated.
