Revoli is a no-frills hotel, yet it delivers everything you need for a brilliant holiday. Our stay didn’t get off to the best start, as there were issues with other guests’ bookings during check-in. We were third in the queue, but it still took nearly 30 minutes to receive the keys to our apartment. That said, the lobby was bright, clean, and pleasant, and the staff were consistently accommodating and friendly. We had booked a sea-view room and were allocated apartment 601, which is nicely tucked away at the end of the corridor. It’s a one-bedroom apartment with a sofa bed for the kids—very spacious and equipped with all the basic kitchen necessities, including a fridge with a freezer compartment. The TV had the five main English channels as well as CBeebies, which was very useful. All the rooms were generously sized, particularly the bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable (two singles joined together), although the single pillows were quite small. There’s also a safe available, which requires a €20 deposit for the key. The apartment had a decent-sized balcony, though we didn’t use it much due to construction work at a nearby restaurant across the road. The hotel overlooks a moderately busy road—not too noisy, but noticeable. One downside was that the room was a bit tired, with visible scuffs and marks, and could use some renovation. However, it was always clean. The pool was a highlight—heated and very comfortable to swim in even with the hot weather. There were always plenty of sunbeds available, although guests still reserved them despite hotel rules against it, and this wasn't enforced. One minor issue was the poolside flooring, which became extremely hot after a few hours in the sun—you definitely needed sandals to walk comfortably. The bar was handy, offering good food like pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches. Happy hour ran from 4–5 p.m. and again from 9–10:15 p.m. We sat there a couple of times with food, though the pigeons could be a bit of a nuisance as they constantly tried to grab food from your table. Breakfast was included in our stay and really impressed us. It was never too busy and had a relaxed atmosphere. There were plenty of options, both hot and continental. While some items varied day-to-day, there was always something for everyone in the family. Entertainment included an on-site arcade, pool tables, and table tennis, although these were chargeable. Some evenings featured singers at the bar, though we only caught one performance, and the atmosphere was generally quiet. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Puerto Rico, which has a wide variety of shops and restaurants. The walk back uphill after a meal was a bit of a challenge, but manageable—even with the kids. There’s a small shop on-site with all the essentials, but we usually opted to walk a minute to the nearby HiperDino supermarket, which had a much better selection. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay. You know it’s been a good holida
