Desire Riviera Maya Resort All Inclusive - Couples Only

As regular visitors to Desire Riviera Maya we have become accustomed to the legendary great service that so many people talk about. But on our most recent trip in August we met a few new members of staff who really enhanced our stay. Jenifer was our room maid, this lady made such an effort each day not just cleaning up our mess but re arranging our counter top beauty products and leaving such nice displays on our made bed. Yirla, a new butler, my wife thought having a lady butler was a really progressive step as sometimes there are things that she would request but feel more comfortable asking another lady. She was also super attentive & already a natural in her role. Ricardo Lopez, this guy always made me laugh with our interactions each day at the bar. Monica, so good to see her back on the playmakers team. Her infectious positive energy was just like it was when she was last at Desire. A great return from her. Johnathan at the bar, always interesting to talk to and share conversations with. But all the staff are excellent at this well run resort. If you are sitting on the fence and wondering whether to book this resort, don’t waste anymore time at a regular resort. Book now and start looking forward to a trip that will change how you “do” vacations.

Had another wonderful trip here. The food has improved, but I wish there were more shady spots at the pool. As always, the staff makes our trip outstanding. We left after 24 hours which left us losing four grand. It started off badly with a dirty room (drink rings on surfaces, unvaccuumed floor, crumbs everywhere) and a butler who said she would message us so we could contact her and then we heard nothing. So we had no way of reaching out. This was followed up by horrible food. We ordered room service. Got sent the wrong thing. Sent it back. We found out some of the lights in the room didn’t work. They did send someone to check that out. He didn’t speak English but I speak Spanish and I said it could wait until the morning. Never heard back about that. The music was so loud everywhere we went that we couldn’t hear anyone. We tried to talk to people but couldn’t because of that. We later found we had no hot water in the room. The next room service order (in the morning) arrived cold and was so bad, it was inedible. We told the front desk what was happening. They only cared about making sure we didn’t expect a refund if we left. At this point, we were done and just wanted to leave. They tried to make us sign something saying it wasn’t their fault. We refused. Then they said they might issue a partial refund. We emailed them all the info they said they didn’t have even though we told multiple staff about all the problems. Still haven’t heard back. Also, don’t bother with the Eden rooms. Ours had a view of a rundown resort that’s been closed for years. That’s the “luxury” part of the resort. We had a good laugh at the resort we moved to the next day when we realized the complimentary bottle of tequila from the Desire room that we brought with us was open and half full. They didn’t even bother checking that. It was cream tequila and rancid. It’s hard to talk about the problems here because people are so hung up on the swinger part of it and hooking up that they are willing to overlook any problem. I tried to mention this on the social media pages for the resort and people lost their minds. They seem to think if you’re having fun hooking up, it’s fine if they charge you $5k for five days in a two star establishment masquerading as luxury.

We have been coming to this resort for years! Seeing the same friendly faces of both the staff and the other guests have made this a home away from home! Say”Hola” to our bestie Africa while at the pool The staff go above and beyond at every level!

The resort is beautiful, the staff were amazing and the food was delicious! The atmosphere and entertainment were great!
