Panoramic Grand - Iguazú

Fantastic location- enjoy being close to restaurants and cafes. Plenty of lovely open space. Lovely pool, good breakfast and in house spa. Perfect spot to watch the sunset. I enjoyed 4 nights here- very happy with my stay.

Great Hotel, excellent location and very kind staff!!

I decided to stay at this beautiful hotel while visiting both sides of Iguazu Falls. The staff was wonderful, and the food was great. The location was walkable to many local venues and I had an amazing view looking towards the triple frontier (borders of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay) and the Integration Bridge (one of two that crosses between Brazil and Paraguay). My only concern was that there is a beautiful park below the hotel where people gathered to enjoy the great weather. Each night, there was very loud music that woke me up between midnight and 4am. Just keep this in mind, especially for weekends, and if you are in a balcony room.

This place is in urgent need of an update. It reminds me of a 1980's Holiday Inn. Although, it is in a good location with beautiful panoramic views and excellent service from very kind and helpful staff. It is dark, with dark wood paneling and dated carpets. I felt the room was quite small with carpet that was very dirty and worn. The bathroom sink was cracked with damage to the mirror and tub. The shower hot water cycles between scalding hot and cold. The air conditioning never reached target temperature and ran loudly constantly for three days, even with black-out curtains drawn during the day. The included breakfast was absolutely horrible with stale pastries re-used from the previous day's afternoon tea. The hot buffet stayed empty for 25 minutes and was then filled with dangerously undercooked bacon and scrambled eggs that were more like soup. Iguazu falls is an outstanding experience that I'd recommend highly, and this is a good location for a night but the value is low for the price they charge.

This hotel is located on a ridge above Iguazu River. In the distance one can see the Parana River where it meets the Iguazu River. The large bridge you see in the distance is actually in Paraguay. The very large Ferris wheel is in Brazil and is the largest in Latin America. Panoramic Grand is rather a large hotel with 5 floors. The best views, and more expensive rooms with balconies, start with room 401*. If you can afford the upgrade, these rooms are well worth the monies. We loved the very large resort pool on property. It can hold about 10 football teams or so. There are plenty of lounges and for us, never crowded. A dedicated bar is close by. The views and this pool are the main features of this hotel. The foyer area is quite large. A friendly face will greet you and show you the lay-out. Breakfast is on the first floor is their separate restaurant. We thought the breakfast was good, the scrambled eggs could have been better though. There were plenty of cakes, breads and fruits (yes, on the bananas!). For this hotel to be 5 stars, a dedicated omelet-egg chef should be in the breakfast area. Charging $2.50 for an omelet did not settle well with us. There is a fairly large elevator that will take you up. We were not fond of the large mirror in the elevator though. Our room was of a descent size. The bed was comfy. The AC was good. The bathroom doable. We loved the view from the balcony. Unfortunately, the next morning we got up for a tour. Our bathroom toilet over-flowed at 5:00AM. We have been in hundreds and hundreds of hotels. This was the first. A worker did come up and fixed it, but the floor was a mess. My wife was upset, and called for another room. Our fantastic view was lost. Panoramic Grand did compensate us which we appreciated. We were told by the manager that there are plans on refurbishing this hotel. Panoramic Grand is in easy walking distance to town. We found Aqva Restaurante to be one of the best. It was very clean, had AC, opened for lunch and dinner, servers and the manager spoke English and the food was extremely good. There are other restaurants but most of the other good ones opened up at 19:00. Panoramic Grand has a restaurant too. There is no question seeing Iguazu Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world, made the journey coming to this area all well worth it.
