We loved this hotel and stayed for three nights while exploring Iguazu Falls. The rooms were nice, though slightly dated. There were only a few staff members, but they were friendly and seemed to juggle multiple roles efficiently. One night, there was a power cut, and the hotel arranged taxis into town—which we really appreciated, as the town was great fun! We also had dinner at the hotel one night, and it was an extremely nice meal. The buffet-style breakfast was pleasant, though nothing particularly special. The swimming pool was a great size, very enjoyable, and well-used during our stay. Overall, a lovely hotel—just a little on the tired side, but still very nice.

Overall nice property surrounded by nature. No food options other than breakfast (Aug 2025) and given its remote location, this can be a little inconvenient. Room smelled a little musty presumably because of the humidity.

We were only able to stay one night. We checked in late and the kitchen served us dinner. Nice lobby, great service. Will come back when I have more time to enjoy.

We were supposed to stay for two nights but left after the first. Firstly, we got very god service from the front desk during all our concerns when it came to one very nice lady who did her best, she even offered us a free dinner. But the fella who checked us out one day early could care less. Secondly, we are disappointed with this hotel. We booked it well in advanced and paid ca $250 usd a night for the superior suite. First they put us in the smaller junior suite, we got changed when mentioned. Sadly, the more expensive room felt more rundown and dark. The patio is bigger with better chairs and a bit more private, and thats the only better thing. However, for the price we paid I expected the outside patio to at least have been swiped even better wiped. The curtains couldn't be drawn away from the windows, so the room felt dark. When mentioned a maintenance man appeared and confirmed the issue and said he would install new curtain holders next day. As we decided not to stay we don't know how it turned out. The shower head was moldy and not cleaned well. Even though they are aware they have plenty of mosquitos, there are no mosquito door. No complementary water in the room or in the lobby. As the hotel is quite remote it would be a good service with at least water. The pool area is nice but it needs maintenance during the day like removing bird poop from sunbeds.

Our visit did not start well when we were shown to our room by a very grumpy receptionist (Ivan). On the way to our room, he suddenly started shouting at another guest, ordering this other guest not to take two pool towels, only one. If that is the hotel rule, so be it, but the way in which the receptionist handled the matter so rudely was most off-putting and the other guest was naturally quite upset. After Ivan left us in our room. I quickly found that the room safe had completely flat batteries and when I went to test the shower, the knob for switching between handheld and overhead came away in my hands. I went to Reception (you cannot phone them, only go there or, we later discovered, chat on WhatsApp). I told Ivan what was wrong and suggested maybe the best solution would be to change rooms. He barked (quite untruthfully, it turned out) that they were completely full. He then came to our room, said that maintenance would put new batteries in the safe and, when he saw the shower, accused me of deliberately pulling off the knob, which he simply pushed back on. Luckily, it was set to overhead and we left it there for the three nights, too afraid to try to change it. The maintenance team did replace the batteries and the safe worked after a fashion. The digit zero was completely unresponsive so we had to avoid that in our code. The digit one when pressed would either not respond or produce several ones. Of course this start coloured our attitude to the hotel. But even without it, we’d have been aware of the room’s shortcomings: no drawers and hardly any shelf space; broken pedal bin in bathroom; only one mirror which was above the sink in the bathroom - too steamed up to use when the shower was going, i.e. I could not shave while my wife was showering. No mirror in the bedroom; almost no surface space in the bathroom; Dirty drinks mugs in the bedroom and a few cheap sachets of instant coffee (with caffeine only) and bags of black tea And the minibar list was what I would call “price gouging”. When a city centre hotel charges a substantial amount for a bottle of still water, that is forgivable. If, as is usual, there is a small store only a few minutes walk away from the hotel at which the same bottle can be bought for 10% of the price, the hotel charge is for convenience. But Selvaje Lodge is nowhere near any stores - a taxi would be needed to buy water. So the minibar is selling to a captive audience and it should, therefore, be priced fairly. It isn’t. The breakfasts were poor with fruit consisting solely of very over-ripe melon or pineapple. There were scrambled eggs in a serving dish which, as you’d expect, suffered from standing and were lukewarm warm and rubbery; there was a highly sugared granola, white bread slices, “plastic” cheese and “plastic” ham. We had one evening meal there which could fairly be described as “ok” but no more than that. And the restaurant lacked any atmosphere with at most a couple of tables occupied wh

Great friendly staff. Restaurant staff especially nice.
Surprisingly good food and quite an amazing wine list for such a small hotel. Located about 15 minutes to the falls. Cab ride was about 25,000 peso and there was a cab outside ready to go. We paid the same amount from the airport too!
We didn't use the pool as it was not that hot, but it was beautifully maintained ad welcoming.
It's also close to town. although we never went there due to lack of time. Great find!

We spent 3 nights at Selvaje Lodge while visiting Iguazu Falls and we liked the peaceful jungle location. Our stay was generally fine but the hotel felt quite functional with the service being rather impersonal and lacking in warmth. Our room was passable although a little shabby e.g. the curtains weren't properly attached and the safe wasn't working properly. It was a shame that complimentary drinking water wasn’t supplied in the room and there was no access to a dispenser to refill water bottles. The pool was great though; it was a good size and there were plenty of loungers (although some of their cushions and towels had definitely seen better days...). Breakfast was OK but would have been better if it had included espresso-based coffee options. We had one lunch and one dinner at the restaurant during our stay, as well as some drinks at the bar. The choice, quality and service were OK and it was convenient to have these options available. For the evenings when we went into town to eat, it was handy that the hotel had drivers on standby to drop us off and pick us up. Altogether not a bad choice for a stay in the area, with potential to be great.
