From the moment we were met at the airport until we left the island, the staff at Marco Vincent was outstanding. They were professional, friendly and so very helpful. There were 19 people in our group and when we arrived to check in, they knew and addressed us by name, and that was true for all of the staff, front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and dive staff. Despite the hotel being about 21 years old, it is well maintained, and our room was spotless. Service was impeccable. If there was anything we needed, all we had to do was ask. When we arrived, we were a little under the weather, as we were in contact with someone in our earlier travels who passed along a cold/flu type illness (not COVID), and they had a driver, Willie, who graciously took us to town to purchase cold and flu meds. Only when we arrived at the pharmacy, they were closed for inventory. He drove us to 2 other (grocery) stores looking for medication. They didn't charge us a thing for that service. Meals were included in our package. The food was very good and plentiful. We appreciated having American food, and really enjoyed the Filipino cuisine as well. The staff and owners, Mel and Merci take great pride in their culture and enthusiastically shared it with us. The SCUBA diving was fantastic. The dive masters were active in pointing out sea life, and it was greatly appreciated. The dive boat, Big Beth, was spacious and very comfortable. A full lunch, with soup and at least 3 entrees and dessert were served onboard each day, in addition to fresh fruit, pastries and cookies between dives. They even made sure those divers with dietary restrictions were given alternate options which were made especially for that person. Each diver had their own personalized cup, coffee/tee mug and towel. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the warm face cloth and ginger tea that awaited us after each dive...what a nice touch. Our group had much to celebrate, we had a birthday and a diver who reached 100 dives. The pastry chef made cakes for both. The dive staff celebrated with signs underwater, celebrated on the boat and back at the resort. It was such a memorable experience. I don't know that anyone can top the hospitality we received at Marco Vincent Dive Resort! I would like to thank Nathan, Elreen, Genova, Rose (?) (front desk), Sherwin, Chefs Ronald and Fred, Cindy in housekeeping who helped me with some laundry, and all of the staff who I didn't mention by name. They were all fantastic. And thanks again to Mel and Merci for your gracious hospitality. We will gladly recommend Marco Vincent to anyone and hope we can come back again and see you all in your new Puerto Galera location.
