HG Lomo Blanco

Ideally located in quiet part close to old town as well as the *****. Two pool areas (one with shallow kids pool) and food available by larger pool -also small dining area just past reception (good selection for breakfast). Pool table for older kids and small playground for toddlers onsite. Very clean complex and friendly staff. Fully equipped kitchenette and lovely powerful shower in bathroom which I loved! Close to lots of shops and restaurants, but relatively steep stroll downhill to beach, fine for us but could be a workout with buggy or if any mobility issues. There was on street parking outside if hiring a car. Lots of taxis around if not! We enjoyed exploring the local areas on foot after a day of sightseeing…some great restaurants close by in the old town. No air con in the apartment that we could see (but we didn’t ask either as we stated at end January so 24 Celsius and pleasant indoors and out) - recommend checking if going at peak times. Pools weren’t heated but nice for a dip- clean and lifeguards on duty at both between 9:30 and 6pm. Relaxing short break at lovely complex, we’ll be back!

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in lomo blanco. It was our first time staying at this accommodation, we had a 1st floor apartment which was spacious and clean. We had a 1 bed room with a seperate single bed in the living area and a couch bed. We chose self catering which was perfect for us and the local supermarkets are all within close proximity. We did cook in the apartment and the cooker can be tricky to use but we got it with practice. The complex is clean, pool area etc no complaints at all. They have a number of warnings jn the hotel that reserving sunbeds is not allowed but people are out in the early am putting towels down, we couldn't get a sunbed on 2 occasions so went to the beach instead. The pool bar is good for a mid day drink or food we got the kids food and it was nice and it not expensive but the soft drinks are pricey but thats everywhere not just the resort. I have to mention Ayub in the bar, he is great with the kids and a sound man! He gave my son a snorkel for the beach and that made his holiday as he was down swimming with the fish the last few days of our holiday. Christina in front reception was very nice aswell and helped us when we arrived and on checkout arranging an early taxi for us. Overall i would recommend this resort for families as the staff and fscilities are excellent. We had no issues with the location and would stay here again.

Money went missing from our room gradually over the week. We felt that this was an inside job because money only went missing after our room had been ‘cleaned’. Initially we thought that maybe we had misplaced the money, it wasn’t until our purses were almost completely emptied that we realised the suspicious nature of the incidence. Everyday day we noticed our suitcases were being rearranged as if someone had been rummaging through our things and we thought this was strange. We also noticed that despite cleaning staff coming into our room most days, our room was still dirty and little effort had been made to clean. It seemed to us that the member of staff entering our room was going through our personal items and not cleaning. The money was only kept in the room during the day, when staff enter rooms to clean, and the money was on our persons in the evenings. No jewellery, electronics or valuables went missing from the room, only cash. When we reported this to staff, we felt that the manager that we spoke to was rude and quite unhelpful, we felt they could have done more to support us. After reporting the incident, we saw the same cleaner we reported loitering outside our apartment block which made us feel very uncomfortable, although she did not enter our room that day we would have appreciated her cleaning a different part of the resort and not outside our room. We felt very uncomfortable and unsafe the rest of our stay. Our room was no longer the safe space we hoped that it would be. This incident was reported to the police, who were very helpful. However, we have since also seen many other reports and reviews of a similar nature.

We just love staying at Lomo Blanco, it's in a central location. In March, the kitchen hobs were being changed to induction hobs, and the saucepans were heavy based which was good for light cooking. Room was cleaned every other day. There is free WiFi. Staff were very pleasant. Look forward to returning in December 2025.

Sadly we would not stay again. Room very dated and no aircon. We did hire fans from reception but they didn’t help much. The bathroom also did not have any ventilation so was even warmer when everyone had showers etc. there was also no where cool/air conditioned to sit through the day as the indoor bar/restaurant is closed off until 6pm. Kids enjoyed the pool every day which was always quiet, location was handy and staff were helpful.
