Hard to find fault with this gem of a hotel!!! This was our first trip to La Isla y el mar having previously stayed in another popular boutique hotel in Puerto del Carmen. We have not been disappointed and I would suggest that for many people La Isla y el mar would be the preferred choice, with it having just a few more rooms, variety of bars/food choices and ‘vibe’. As for value for money, La Isla y el mar wins without question! Rooms are of the highest quality with each having a separate lounge and bedroom, with some having better views of the sea. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean (thanks to the wonderful housekeeping staff) and have a quality boutique feel about them. We stayed in rooms 805 and 711 (classic suite) and found them to be everything we needed on our trip. All public areas an are well maintained and there are ample sun-loungers available in several areas around the pool and ‘chil-out’ area. Breakfast is a mix of buffet and cooked-to-order food, again of a high quality, with plenty of staff on hand to assist. Although we didn’t dine in Kentia restaurant, it seems to have a gourmet menu and the adjoining cocktail bar is a very chilled beautiful suave to enjoy a drink with friends. It was great to meet singer Coleen again whom we’d met at a different resort - she is excellent. The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic, always engaging, polite and helpful. Honestly, nothing was too much trouble and the entire team focused on making your stay better! Thank you! The management team and some staff come to meet guests on a Wednesday evening and this typifies the ethos of the hotel - really nice touch! We particularly liked the pool bar/cafe area and want to make a special mention of Eugenia, whose service and friendliness really stood out to us. She really is very good at her job. We look forward to returning in the very near future!!!!🤞🤞🤞

As a family we have been coming to Lanzarote for over 20 years. We alternate between this hotel in PDC and a villa in Puerto Calero. Also to put into context we have travelled and stayed some amazing hotels across the world, from the Burj al Arab in Dubai, Ikos & Sami resorts to the four seasons in Sydney. This hotel is a home from home for us, the staff are exceptional. It’s not perfect, yes sometimes the bar staff are busy and it’s a little slower but your on holiday in a small boutique hotel it’s not the end of the world! We have stayed in the much more expensive fariones and Lanis and will never stay again. For the price point, the hotel has got it completely right. For dinner in the evening head into the old town, plenty of fabulous restaurants or Calero (la portena) or if you have a car Dunas at famara is a must. Thank you again all of you for giving us all a fantastic holiday.

This was our third visit to La Isla y El Mar, and as I've praised it previously, so I must do once more. The main aspect behind the success of the hotel is the pleasant nature of the staff: any commercial venture which is successful relies on the staff, none more so than the hospitality trade. I would name all of the staff if I could, but most contact was with Rens and Tullio in reception, Rueben in the breakfast area, along with Liliana, Lia, Eugenia, Samuelle and Soraya in various areas as they are brilliant multi taskers (!), and I think David in the bar at nights, by which time I had had a few refreshments so apologies if the name is wrong! To every member of the housekeeping and maintenance staff, you do your work with great care and humour, and of course, the gardeners keep the planted environment in a brilliant condition. It was our 40th Anniversary while visiting, and beside a kind delivery of Cava and Strawberries to mark the occasion, we took in a meal at the Kentia Restaurant within the hotel. For a variety of reasons, including my picky and careful eating habits, I chose a vegetarian meal, Tropical Tataki, which was tremendous. My wife chose beef, which she informed me was marvellous. Some staff were also aware that I was under pressure due to a recent bereavement, and they treated me with kindness when necessary, which I very much appreciate. We will visit again.

Yes as they say the bed is a bit hard; don’t sleep on your shoulder or agony will ensue. If you have an injury otherwise bed okay. However, being in Deluxe Suite means you have jacuzzi with worn out loungers which will break your coccyx so be very careful!!!! Trip advisor now not aligned to leave reviews - gone dark on screen - weird! Service is great and not so great 50/50. There are some amazing people working here and some ignorant and self-absorbed staff - Danny - female. Lovely staff and miserable slightly rude staff at small but adequate pool. Wouldn’t come back but it was a nice holiday. Better than the cheaper alternatives with rude reception last time hating tourists!!! Reception is amazing here! But what’s the point of that if you feel uncomfortable when you get inside? It’s recommended if you’re not hoping for 5 star and can ignore the shortfalls! But why bother? Was fun but not 100% considering the price. At least invest in new jacuzzi loungers or there might be a lawsuit for damages! Sign of lack of investment interest!!! Who’s making the money and running???

Elevated yet affordable and fun. Non-hotel guests having celebratory dinner at Kentia. The food is a menu of delicious, vibrant and fun dishes, accompanied by a guaranteed perfectly paired wine by sommelier Ana, whose knowledge and passion is infectious and non-pretentious. Ruben and Liliana made us feel welcome and special with just the right amount of service. This place should be full every night. The connected bar had a wonderful singer start at 9.30 so you could easily make a night of it.

Stayed here for a few days on HB but we would highly recommend just the BB and enjoy eating out. The bar drinks are really good if you want a cocktail. Overall it was a great stay, nice and clean and helpful staff. I would certainly return when I’m in the area.
