We had a lovely short holiday. I recommend it to anyone staying in Lanzarote. let's get the downsides out of the way first though 1. The gym was closed throughout the duration of our stay 1-6 April. We were not that bothered though so didn't ask why.2. for active people it is a 5 minute walk down to the beach, using a path with steps directly behind the hotel (the back of the hotel faces the beach) but for the less mobile, those relying on mobility scooters for instance, it might take a bit longer on the roads. 3. We were all inclusive, the beer and food was nice, chicken legs and (frozen) white fish and various other options, the famous canary island new potatoes and red and green mojo sauce, salad etc for lunch and dinner, but the wine (on tap) was undrinkable. But what do you expect for how much you paid. The sangria was ok. The cocktails were sugary syrup with watered down alcohol and lots of ice cubes, so we avoided them after the first time, apart from the gin and tonic which was nice.4. being such a good value accommodation I can forgive them, but the towels were not in any way fluffy. Also the bed was comfy but the pillows, though comfy, were very thin, and you were only given 1 each with no spares in the room, so we had to ask for another couple, and even then it took me a while to get used to them. Also there was no need for Aircon, in April, and infact I felt a tiny bit cold in bed on the 1st night, when there was uncharacteristic heavy rain, so we asked for a blanket as well. Also you have to pay 1 euro a day to rent a pool towel, as well as the 10 euro deposit. Also you have to pay for internet (15 euro for 4 days for 2 devices) but there is free internet you can access in reception. Now for the positives. The staff were all tremendous. The 1 bed apartment we were given was lovely and stylish and had a sea view. We were provided a courtesy room to shower on the last day. The on site shop is worth a look, it had many cheap delicious snacks like dry roasted sweet corn, and drinkable bottles of wine, and coffee tea and milk so you can make beverages in your room (they all have a kettle, toaster, fridge, hob). The 2 pools were nice and we never struggled to get a sun lounger (a brolly however was much harder to come by, there were only a few, nailed to the floor). We found Puerto del Carmen a nice beach resort, much like any other in Spain, there were miles of shops restaurants etc along the promenade if you walk on the seafront with the sea to your left, and the other way, towards the airport, there are a few bars and restaurants, then a long walk along the perimeter of the airport, then finally you reach a small settlement with bars and restaurants again, but all the way locals and holidaymakers alike are enjoying the beach. We also hired a car for a day and went on a roadtrip around the island, and also went to Arrecife on the bus. The bus stop is less than 5 mins walk- turn right out of the back of the hotel (the side nearest the se
