I’ve never left a review before but I feel it’s really needed for this hotel. I don’t feel the reviews are fair and really worries me before I came. We came two friends with children and we had the most fantastic holiday we normally stay at really expensive resorts this was a cheap get away and didn’t expect a lot especially after the reviews. Hotel is very clean rooms lovely just what you need can not fault housekeeping. We arrived delayed 1am reception was amazing quick and had us some food. You pay for what you get but I definitely would come back excellent location very safe loads to do beautiful area. Evening entertainment is definitely lacking for us but other people seemed happy. Pool area lovely Christian the life guard makes the place so good with everyone goes above and beyond to help everyone and great with children the days he wasn’t in there was a noticeable difference. Always had sun beds always food at the pool bar chips burgers hotdogs toasties salad fresh fruit my daughter loved the fresh watermelon and sandwiches I’m not sure how anyone could moan about this. The staff at the pool bar work super hard as well. Always clean and tidy. Restaurant food so I would say it’s all pretty typical always fresh always something to choose a little repetitive but not an issue so much to offer for fussy eaters you have you basics and always lovely dishes and fresh meat cooked yes a lot of pork but was absolutely fine for us. Some of the staff are grumpy and rude I do think that needs slightly changing but always some lovely amazing hard working staff we really loved Nico Christian and the lady at the pool bar. Things to do lido was lovely town beautiful beaches so much fun there is a couple of bars for the evening the lido beehive and molly malone Irish bar was fun. If your looking for a cheap family holiday I wouldn’t hesitate to book and will definitely be back thank you x

The room was very comfortable, the bed too. The room was cleaned every day. The hotel olso ofers an ineresting cultural program for guests.

Last minute booking and reviews worried me - However... Hotel looks a little worse for wear from the outside, as do most hotels in the area. Don't let that fool you, inside it was immaculately clean, a little dated decor wise in places but it is clear that improvements are ongoing. Cleaning rooms happened daily and was excellent, beds were a little uncomfortable but may suit others. Food was the main let down, poor selection and the quality was very much hit and miss. perhaps an Omelette station instead of the dry fried eggs being shoveled out every day would improve the breakfast. The pool was small for the size of hotel but you can see they have reneovated this area to be more comfortable and well appointed, we enjoyed it regardless. During peak times I'd recommend a trip to the Lido - but go early! Staff were friendly and efficient, especially Christian in teh Lobby Bar on an evening and we were kindly given a complimentary room to shower and clean up before pick up when a late check out from our room was unavailable which was a brilliant touch. Overall a great stay - Puerto De La Cruz is a place I'd highly recommend and whilst there is room for improvement here I would return. Value for money was exceptional.
