Relais Fenicottero Rosa

I was very disappointed when as we arrived from another hotel in the area, the manageress started by excusing herself and explaining that this place was more a family house than a hotel. I liked the Lady of the house who worked hard and made yogurts at home. I found the rest of the staff unprofessional. I believe if it is a family home then they should stop calling it a 4* hotel as it is deceiving. Once you get there it is too late. Perhaps they should call it a B&B or a Guest house. I have waited a few months to see if they would change the name but since they did not, I am offering my opinion to protect fellow travellers. The main complaint I have is about the kitchen. In the evening it is open as a restaurant and the area is quite nice. The wine was good, local and well priced. The food was not prepared with care and respect due to paying customers. I have ordered sea urchin pasta and my partner mussel and sea food. The 'chef' used the same pan to cook both dishes and I ended up with pasta that had a strong understate of mussels which I cannot eat. To make matters worse, while several couples were having candlelit dinner, the 'chef/owner' came into the dining room, spread in the sofa and watched a loud football game. I could not believe it! It was like being an unwelcome guest in some single man house! I found that behaviour unacceptable in a business. We went out for the remaining stay. some other guests were eating supermarket bought food in their room's terrace and explained that they found the service equally bizarre and a family of wild boars by living by the pool side coming out at night. The beach is not as close as they say. There is a shuttle service but it is not as frequent as it should be.

Delightful small hotel , set in lovely gardens with a beautiful pool . The owners take such care of us , nothing is too much trouble . . Everything is immaculate , the rooms charming , the food is superb - excellent breakfasts and delicious evening meals . It has been absolute heaven ! Thoroughly recommend !
