Yearly trip to Venice: i was drawn to this beautiful pattio photos and Venetian charm of this hotel. YET I do not recommend this hotel. I am such a easy guest- I can sleep anywhere, I can almost sleep standing in a bus. Day 1, I was so tired and slept through, but day 2: it was extremely noisy outside as if there was a party just in the next room. It was a Bar, just right outside of my room. My room was on 2nd floor BACK SIDE of the hotel, exactly the opposite of ocean view: I understand that there was no pattio, no ocean view- but the noise? It was worse than sleeping in the hostel with drunken teenagers. (Which I did few days before coming to this hotel) I went downstairs to ask for help - instead of offering me another room, staff was like "but the music is not even loud"......well, yes, the lobby was quieter than my room! I asked for earplugs and went upstairs. Yet I couldn't believe that I had to accept THIS: I was so excited to be in Lido again and I booked this hotel 4 months ago - and this is what I get? I went downstairs to directly ask for the room change. (He still wanted to check if I was overreacting or not.) My room had a broken AC, still no ocean view I dreamt about, but I could at least sleep. Staff said they were aware of this problem- but then how could they give such room to any visitor? Why would you even think that customer will overreact for the bare minimum standard (being able to sleep) in the hotel??? I'm utterly sad from what I experienced.
