The hotel is very friendly and friendly and is always available for any needs or advice. For breakfast, included in the booking, on request they made us find gluten-free products for a chelyaic person (all fresh and very good!). Very good and quite varies the normal breakfast! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. What to say? ! We recommend it!

What a wonderful hotel. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived . Davide ( manager?) was so charming and helpful. The breakfast on the roof terrace was delicious . A choice of Italian pastries , hams and salamis, hard boiled egg, fresh fruit salad the best blood orange juice ever coupled with freshly made ( to order) coffee and tea made for a memorable start to the day. Carmen , Giacamo and GianCarlo welcomed us with a smile and helped, very patiently, with our attempts to order in Italian . We appreciated their kindness immensely. Another highlight was collecting a glass of wine from the bar down stairs and sitting on the roof terrace to watch the sun set over the sea, as recommended by Davide. The terrace has a glorious view of the mountains behind and the sea straight in front. An idyllic setting. The hotel its self was spotlessly clean. Immediately opposite are many shops and restaurants . Even though we were there early October and many had closed for the winter there were still plenty to choose from. Fiona and Freyja

Located between the pine wood and the promenade, the family-run Hotel Ely is an Art Nouveau building on the parade route of Viareggio’s carnival. The rooms offer free Wi-Fi, and breakfast is a sweet and savoury buffet. Rooms are spacious and feature a LED TV, safe ,and en suite bathroom with hairdryer. Some rooms have a balcony, kettle and minibar, while some others offer views of the sea. Most rooms offer air conditioning. The Ely Hotel has a peaceful location near the beach but far from the traffic. Viareggio Train Station is 1.5 km away. You can request discounted parking permits at reception. Discounts are available on parasols and deckchairs at a partner beach nearby, and at nearby spa and fitness centre.

We stayed here for 2 nights with a bus tour group. The location is a bit out of Lucca but in a very picturesque location. There was a pool and pretty garden areas but we were unable to use the pool because of very short hours. The main villa is very beautiful and common areas were interestingly decorated. Our room was in the annex and was small with trees right outside the window. The decor was very dated and the bedspread looked like it was from the 1970's. The room was dark and uninviting but appeared clean. The shower/tub worked well and the bathroom had better lighting. We had dinner here one night with our tour and the food was not very good. Service took forever, and I gave up on dessert and went to bed over sitting there for more than 2 1/2 hours. Breakfast was decent with a lot of choice, but the room was crowded with a poor layout for serving. It was a unique location but rooms could use a major overhaul.
