If you don't feel it, you can understand what you've lost. You can't explain the care and attention of the details. Only staying can make you understand the love with which Vincenzo manages his structure. To not talk about how Vincenzo makes his customers feel, cocktailed, unique, special ..... I challenge anyone to find defects to this jewel in the heart of Barletta!!

Grand Hotel Terme

This was the final stop on a tour of Puglia. It is situated centrally, with its own access to the beach, which is sandy and clean. The hotel was nothing special, and although it was said to have had a refurbishment, this seemed limited to the bathroom, where ours had a walk-in shower, marble-effect sink area, and a bidet. The decor was dated, and the only plug we could find easily in the room was attached to the coffee machine (which was full of dirty water with a scum on it, so we didn't use the Lavazza coffee pods that were supplied). You will pay 2 Euros for a bottle of water from the fridge. This was a convenient stop-off to visit Monte Sant Angelo, which is a delightful hilltop town with views out over the Adriatic, and has a superb church built underground into a cave. We only ate in the hotel on one night, and the food was disappointing. Breakfast was limited, and the coffee was awful. Given that the restaurant only opens at 0730, and most tours staying there were gone by 0830, breakfast was a scrum-down - utter chaos. Not much going on in the town, and restaurants are mainly pizzerias along the beach front, but Stella d'Oro, just around the corner from the hotel, is a good shout, and we had a nice meal there. The staff seemed to be fairly robotic, and the lady at check-out simply couldn't cope, to the point where she wanted to charge us twice for the tourist tax of 2 Euros each.
Villa Wanda - Residenza di Charme

Anybody who has traveled around Italy will know that hotels can be a little ”variable”. Villa Wanda is one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. it is not a grand or luxury hotel but at times it felt like it. It is set in a beautiful large house on a main road in Trani so it is relatively easy to find. However, I wasn't aware of traffic noise throughout the night. It's not on the seafront but the beach is only a 5 minute walk away. Parking was very straightforward. The entrance hall is very imposing with a large wooden staircase and a huge chandelier. The entire building has the feeling of being well cared for. Our room ( which included a second single room ) was large, attractively furnished and clean, as was the spacious bathroom. I'm not sure if we were dealing with staff or proprietors but everybody was very pleasant and easy going and somehow we seemed to rapidly have all the information we needed to make our stay pleasant. We only stayed one night so we didn't use any other facilities except for breakfast which was a typical continental breakfast consisting of fresh ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Villa Wanda. Everything was welcoming. It didn't seem soulless like staying in one of the big chain hotels but neither did you feel as if you were an intruder in somebody else's house. I would recommend Villa Wanda to anybody visiting this area.

Garage interno e custodito, unico punto positivo.
