Perfect for a relaxed, restorative, refreshing beach holiday. Our family stayed in 3 villas - the Hilltop, the Private Pool and a small villa on the beachfront. The Hilltop villa is perched atop a small hill with panoramic views of the coast, ocean, and the mouth of the Cokel river where small fishing boats come in and out. The windows wrap around the entire villa with different types of seating and tables at different spots so you can enjoy meals, or just relax, and look out at the view. The sea breeze is beautiful. You can’t hear anything but the peaceful sounds of waves, the breeze and birdsong. It is the perfect blend of modern Indonesian joglo with a vintage, beach house vibe. Everything is clean. The shower, toilets and sinks are new and spotless. Towels are soft and smell lovely. Beds are comfy. Living area is spacious. Meals can be delivered to the villa and are absolutely delicious. The meal packets offer good variety with fresh produce. Although there is a kitchen in the villa there aren’t any cooking facilities, e.g. stove or microwave, but the room service is fast and generously portioned, and unless you brought all your own groceries with you, you probably won’t be cooking anyway. The fridge is stocked with drinks. Access to the villa is either via your car or motorbike, or on foot up the steep driveway or staircases. So, if you’re staying with young children and not wanting to drive up and down the driveway each time you go out, it’s better to choose a beachfront villa. The private pool villa is hidden halfway up the hill. It has an outdoor shower set in the rocks, a small private infinity pool and refreshing views of the treetops, and coastline. The smell of the eucalyptus here is gorgeous, as are the sunsets. The small beachfront villa is also a good option. It is set amongst the coconut trees a short stroll to the beach and the resort restaurant. The beach is a surf beach and good for beach-combing - lots of hermit crabs! There are warungs offering food and drinks all along the beach. It wasn’t crowded, even though we were there at the start of the school holidays. The Cokel river is a short drive - you can ride a fishing boat up and down the river for about $2.50 for 30 mins. Fresh fish is sold straight off the fishing boats just around the corner. A short drive to other beaches. Hotel staff are warm, friendly, efficient, and professional. Service is excellent. Can’t wait to stay here again!
