We stayed in C3, which is considered one of Hestara's premium condos. Usually I would rate such a condo 4 stars, but taking into account the $210/night rate and the "service", they deserve only 3 stars. Pros: Conveniently located near various north shore activities, great views. Cons: All the Sealodge condos look super dirty and old from the outside. Seriously not attractive, perhaps this is the reason they didn't post any photos of the unit from the outside? Inside, the condo is new and updated, except for the bathroom / shower and they obviously do not bother to mention it. Oh, it is also very very small. The condo was clean, but we left 1 empty glass in the sink for the night and it was covered with ants in the morning. You are out of luck if you try to contact the site manager, either by visiting the office or on the phone. There was no dishwasher soap so we tried to catch the site manager, but well, see the previous note so we emailed the sales agent and he suggested us to purchase dishwasher soap at the nearby Big Save... The bed is new and reasonably comfortable, but the frame is bigger than the mattress, so be careful with the corners. You will probably remember the corners, after one or two hits. Some of these cons may sound petty, but this is really not what you expect from a "premium" condo @ $210/night. We stayed at much better and cheaper places in Kauai.

Our stay at Sealodge J8 was not great. The patio screen was broken and the bathrooms were barely functional. We had an emergency situation occur and the owners were unwilling to work with us regarding a remedy. Skip this place and look for a different unit.

What a colossal mistake booking this place. Run down, old, dripping faucet, cramped space, chipped paint, dirty baseboards… the owners should be ashamed…. horrible. If the views weren’t fantastic, I would have left. Do not stay here…

We stayed at the Sealodge Unit G9 in Princeville for a week in mid-Feb ($204/night). The Sealodge is completely underwhelming at first sight. The buildings have the ramshackle look of weathered old boxes piled haphazardly on top of each other. Much of the look comes from the unfinished wood siding that, exposed to the sun and winds along the bluff, has aged to varying shades of gray, brown and black. But it is the bluff that makes the place special, giving many of the units unrivaled views along the coast and out to sea. Our well-maintained and updated 1 bedroom unit was on the top floor of 3-story Building G, one of the closest to the edge of the 200 foot bluff down to the ocean. There was no elevator, and the climb up the stairs was a bit challenging with all of our luggage, but the spectacular views when we walked in the door more than made up for the effort. The unit was large & spacious with 10 foot ceilings throughout. The sitting area was furnished with a couch, coffee table, wall-mounted TV, long cabinet with decorative shelves and the unit's electronic equipment. The front of the room had a nook with 2 rattan chairs set by both front and side windows giving us those spectacular views. On the other side, the sliding glass doors opened to a deck with a tall table and stools open onto those views, an ideal place for breakfast and afternoon drinks. Behind the sitting area was a large round table with 4 chairs, and a utility closet (beach chairs, boogie board, umbrella but no beach towel, a few games, books) with the clothes washer & dryer on the other side. Behind was the kitchen with the stove/oven, full refrigerator, dishwasher. To the side at the back was the bedroom with a king bed, closet with a chest of drawers, and a full window with sea views. The bathroom, to the side with entrances from the bedroom as well as the kitchen, was stocked with high quality toiletries. There was no AC in the unit, but the central ceiling fan and the constant trade winds kept it cool. The grounds were mostly lawn with very little landscaping and few amenities – the only BBQ facility available was 3 small charcoal grills (no gas barbecues here), and the single pool was fairly small and quite dated. A trail led down to Sealodge Beach, quite steep and a bit arduous on a hot afternoon. Princeville itself had a couple of restaurants and a Foodland grocery store but, be warned, the food prices at this end of the island were astronomical. We bought almost all of our food in Lihui, but when we looked for a watermelon to replace one that had gone bad, the cheapest price was $10 for a quarter of a melon. The market in Hanalei was no better. We had one minor complaint about the condo. When we lost the live feed for the TV (other things like Netflix still worked), we contacted the rental agent (Kauai Pacific Realty) and left a message as instructed. No one ever returned our call - not impressive. Overall, Sealodge G9 was a comfortable, well maintained condo p

The view from all the rooms was amazing. Very clean, newer furniture, washer and dryer, no complaints. Had to walk up some stairs, but very doable. Very quiet, only heard the waves and the breeze. Very close to princeville stores. Annini beach is 10 minutes away, snorkeled with turtles! Highly recommend

We stayed in unit C2 rented from Hestara. The location of Sealodge cannot be beat. We had an ocean view from the porch & mountain views from the kitchen. That’s the only good news here. This place is shabby but most definitely not chic! I would use terms like run down, neglected, beat up & worn out. The list of issues is long but I will narrow it down to a few of the most egregious. —bathroom linoleum ripped in many places (appeared not to be a recent happening as curled at edges which presented a frequent tripping hazard) —hole in bathroom wall —baseboards missing in much of unit —patio door & all windows difficult to open & close; many locks nonfunctional (wood stick provided in lieu of functioning locks) —patio screen ripped —screen fasteners broke &/or missing; we purchased duct tape to secure screen in place by front door —questionable mold where wall meets ceiling outside bathroom —cockroaches in unit Almost all of these issues could be resolved quickly & affordably if there was desire on part of owner/management to do so. I have attached photos so any prospective renters can see for themselves what awaits them in unit C2. As originally stated, do NOT rent this unit!!!

This is the second time staying at the Sealodge. After having stayed in unit C2 it is hard to imagine that there would ever be a repeat customer. We are very easy to please and it takes a lot to be unhappy. With that being said, this unit has great potential but has just been neglected. The "renovations" consist of faux wood vinyl flooring that has been poorly cut and still missing several baseboards. The bathroom had faux tile vinyl flooring that was poorly installed. Appliances worked but were rusted and have seen better days. None of the windows & patio door opened very easily and none could be locked. The table and chairs on patio were all rusted and the flooring on patio was loose. All of the curtains in the unit were very old and outdated. The TV had very few channels available to watch and there was no placard showing which channels were available to watch. We were disappointed because the description and photos were misleading of the true condition, but otherwise we had a great trip, as we didn't spend an enormous amount of time in the condo anyways. We will definitely stay at the Sealodge again...just a different unit.
