Huff Estates Inn & Winery

Recent 3 night stay at Huff Estates in Prince Edward County (PEC), Ontario... first of all, you can't beat the location if your plans are to explore PEC or to take in the local wineries or breweries... Huff Estates is in the middle of everything! We had a Premier Room, with a king sized bed & tons of room! The room itself was very well laid out, though I wish the ridiculously large bathroom (don't get me wrong, it was great) needs to separate the toilet area from the bathtub/sink area - just a suggestion, maybe personal preference??? I found the bed itself a little too soft (or mushy) for my liking, again maybe just personal preference??? Aside from those two very minor concerns, the room is very clean & well maintained! The complimentary breakfast was a real surprise... in a good way! Bacon, eggs, fruit, cereals, breads, juice, and really good coffee! The breakfast area staff aim to please, whether whipping up and omelette or preparing simple scrambled eggs! There is also a person there tending to any other requests... both individuals are/were fantastic! The estate itself boasts a sculpture garden, a winery, and a restaurant that serves really, really good pizza! ...actually, pizza is the only food item available. Our room came with a complimentary bottle of rose, and a coupon for a free tasting! I thought this was a really nice touch! Overall, I would recommend this place to friends - no question! Friendly staff, clean & spacious rooms, and close to everything make this a great place to stay!

I was really looking forward to visiting Huff Estates with my two kids for a nice lunch and wine tasting, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The staff were not welcoming, and I felt judged for having children with me. Kids can naturally be a bit loud, but instead of being understanding or helpful, the service felt cold and dismissive. Overall, it wasn’t the relaxing and enjoyable visit I had hoped for. As a couple who have been several times over the last 10 years, we will not be back nor will we continue to recommend others visit.

If you buy a bottle of wine (let's say 2023 Gateway Rose) at Huff, the normal/retail/listed price would be $22 + TIP. Because when you buy it in the retail shop, Huff asks you for TIP, either as percentage or amount, with NO option on the first or second screen for zero 9or not tip). At the table, the same bottle is $32. An 8oz glass is $16. That makes the bottle more than $48. And if you get the small amount - 5oz - the bottle would go to $60.

The location is great for touring the county. Staff are very friendly and the included breakfast great. We had an upgraded room and it was fine but lacked a coffee maker. We did ask for one and it was provided. Also lack of end-tables next to the sofa and chair meant balancing everything on our knees.

Liked the Pizza and Wine Experience - loved the tranquil environment and the outdoor art was amazing allowing for leisurely walk to admire the artwork !!
