Hotel away from the center. It is in a construction zone and there is always someone chipping into the wall.
Fairly new and modern hotel, comfortable bed.
We didn't have hot water and we booked half board and they don't have that service. Hotel staff leaves a lot to be desired, the guy at the reception doesn't inform you of anything.

Positive points: the hotel staff is nice, the room is relatively clean and well equipped for the price. Cons: the hotel is located outside of Praia, requiring us to take a taxi every time to get into town or visit something. Lunch is more than limited, it does not deserve a 4 star, there were barely 3 pieces of fruit (which were not very desirable), rolls, no jam or butter, instant coffee. In addition, there is no fitness room, it is replaced by an alcohol and hookah warehouse. A little weird. Please note: during our second night, the Happy Day Hotel was the victim of an attack by a group of young Angolan people. According to the noises we could hear, they entered the room next to ours with the aim of burglarizing, then they went down one floor and we heard very violent altercations with many people shouting , moving furniture and knocks. This lasted about 30-45 minutes. We didn't feel safe. The next day we asked at reception what had happened, the lady tried to cover it up. We still decided to leave the hotel for our safety.

Very friendly welcome, clean room. Hotel far from the city center, plan taxi costs on average 300cve/trip. Breakfast OK, little variety. Don't go there without your iron or steamer, they charge up to 1000 cve for ironing. If your meal is not included in the hotel price, make do with what is served, every extra is charged even the accompaniment. Shortage of hot water depending on the hours but the climate is mild which helps Excellent value for money, apart from the catering
