Clarion Hotel Prague City

We did not get to stay in this hotel even though the hotel confirmed our stay twice via email. We were told to go to their sister hotel instead. This was the first time this is happening to us. The sister hotel, Courtyard Prague City, was in Praha 3 instead of 2. We had planned our stay around Clarion Prague and had to re-planned a bit since we were not so near the city, especially when there is no more direct transport to the airport. Texted Trip.com agent who wanted to refund us fully and with $270 as compensation but we had to look for new accommodation ourselves. To save the hustle and risked being stranded with more expensive or no accommodation, we rejected it and stayed at the above hotel, with $132 as compensation. We were pretty upset as it was at the start of our stay in Prague which we had looked forward to for months. In addition, the air conditioner in our room at Courtyard Prague City was not working and we had to change room. The new room was warm too as they use a central air-conditioner. In the end, we had to open the windows and endure the noise. The water heater was down for the first day too.

Nice hotel and good location, room was basic but all you need for staying over night, bed was quite comfy but bed sheet had a stain on it , it didn’t look fresh but was a bit off putting but apart from that it was a nice hotel. A lot of eating places and drinking places around and fast food restaurants

Scorching weather up to 27 degrees (Uk, London was record breaking heat, so you can imagine temperatures here). Could not put on air conditioning as the hotel have overall control so not accessible from your room, u willing to put the air conditioning on as they felt the season was not the hottest it could be. So no air conditioning, no fridge to cool own water bottles. Unbearable room temperature. Water bottles not on a daily basis, however cool drinking water available in reception, when it had run out, I asked if it could be refilled to that the response was you can buy a bottle at the vending machine. Unfortunately, I still have one night to go and have had a lovely trip with my partner in the city but wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Also, when booking we stated it was a couples trip, unfortunately the single beds was all we could have. They did try and change us, at the cost of additional €20 per night however this wouldn’t work as we had three nights booked and they had already booked the room for another customer. The location is great, staff are pleasant but not really accommodating. Basics like air conditioning and water on vacation are not of concern to them, once booked and secured. Need to improve!. They have provided small fan, that goes off it the wire moves however does not cool the room down at all.
