Travelodge by Wyndham Powell

The accommodation provides well-maintained, modern rooms with friendly staff and a convenient location. However, some guests were dissatisfied with the limited breakfast options.

I’m not going to sugarcoat this. The motel is a bit out of the way, which is fine with me. There aren’t a lot of amenities, which is also fine with me. The thing that sets this Travelodge apart from other places is the PEOPLE! Scott is the owner and a great guy! The staff is AMERICAN, and incredibly friendly and accommodating. The price is less than competition in Cody, Wyoming about 20 miles closer to the area attractions, and I mean a lot less! I booked the room through Trip.com because of the extreme price difference, and ended up saving more than enough for an additional night, after rethinking our rushed plans. I would absolutely stay there again, and I highly recommend it for budget minded travelers.

Some people might think I’m generous by giving this hotel and average rating, but I think it’s fair when you consider what your options are in Powell, Wyoming. The woman checking in was super friendly, gave me a great recommendation for a place to eat dinner and then move me to a renovated room with two beds rather than the King that I originally requested. I think what she means by renovated is freshened up, new paint just a brighter interior and stuff like that. This is an old motel in my room, 121, opens up to the parking lot. I’d like that cause then I could park my motorcycle right in front of me. Realistically, this is just a place to sleep. I like how the area in front of the bathroom sink is solid surface and the the path you take from the door to the bathroom is also solid surface. The beds are OK not great, not bad. I would judge the room to be clean, but there are things that make the room look old like the baseboard heater in the bathroom is old and dented. One minor knit I would pick is I had two bottles of conditioner and no shampoo. Not a big deal I always pack one just in case. The outdoor pool was closed when I was there, not that I would’ve gone swimming, but for people families that might be a difference maker. The ice machine in the building I stayed and was out of order. Not a big deal. I got ice at McDonald’s. Would I stay here again? Probably
