Red Lion Hotel Templin's on the River

I had a most unpleasant experience with this hotel's receptionist Miss B. My son's phone was not working, and I had to call the hotel to get ahold of him. I asked to be transferred to him and gave the reception my son's room number and his name. Miss B refused to transfer me citing some sort of domestic violence, in what I am assuming is her life (only reason I didn't include her name in this review). While I am truly sorry for whatever she has gone through, at the end of the day it is not my issue and makes no sense whatsoever for this particular circumstance. She told me to call my son's cell phone, which I had already explained did not work. Long story short, she refused to transfer me, she would not put me on hold and call up to my son's room to verify that she could transfer me (which I thought was a reasonable request). THEN proceeded to tell me she was "glad that she wasn't transferring me"! Who says that to someone??!! What if there was an emergency?! I asked her for her name, which she gave me. When I asked for the manager's name and number, she hung up on me!! My son did call me for a different reason shortly after.., and I asked if this Miss B. had relayed the message that I called (I was assuming that was why he was calling me).. and to my surprise he said she had not!!! I'm sorry, but she is an employee, and every experience is a marketing experience for the hotel. Who is this woman to decide that she isn't going to connect me to my child, who is only staying there while he is in training. Unbelievable! I did have my son get the name, number and email for the hotel management. I have already written to them about this unpleasant experience. I'm really just in awe that this Miss B not only rudely represented her place of employment, but didn't deliver the message that I even called!!! Needless to say, we will never utilize this hotel again!

We were there for Rock the Dock. The facilities and room were great, but the restaurant staff left something to be desired. Would stay there again, but eat somewhere else.

Fantastic location You can tell the hotel itself is in transition with updates not yet to the rooms. But that being said the staff and location were a 10, the room was clean and beds were comfortable. The absolute star was the access to the marina. A bar, ice cream, food truck, beach area and dock to lounge on. It was my family’s dream. Cocktails and dinner while my son fished off the dock. We will return
