Clean place right in downtown. We were up for an event at Wentworth by the Sea, and decided to stay downtown instead. Glad we did since it was 1/2 the cost and no kids.

The Sailmaker’s House is an excellent Inn located close to the old town, museums, parks, and good eateries. Beautiful house, appealing and comfortable rooms, seamless checkin and communication, quality coffee and tea available at all times, outstanding overall experience.

We loved the Sailmaker’s House. We stayed two nights and never had to move our car. The location is perfect and we walked everywhere. Portsmouth is a beautiful town and the people are very kind. Loved room 3. It was clean and quiet. Enjoyed being able to make a coffee and get filtered water.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sailmaker's House. The rooms were immaculate and very quiet. I appreciated the thoughtful amenities. The location was so convenient. We re able to walk to restaurants, shops and the Strawberry Bank Museum.

The location was absolutely perfect! Located in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, the restaurants, shops and attractions were within easy walking distance. The room was spacious, clean and included all the modern amenities despite the old world rustic charm of the building. I really appreciated the fully stocked beverage bar downstairs for my late night cup of tea and early morning coffee. The host was responsive and helpful with all my questions and special needs. I will definitely be returning for my next visit!
