Beautiful room so peaceful the bed was amazing and incredibly comfortable. The location was great and just a very short walk into everything, whilst beautifully peaceful at night. The owner was charming and we are only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. A must stop on any tour of New England.

It doesn’t have a lobby or reception of a classic hotel but they text you to check in with you and are there if you need something. You just get a room and a bathroom but it has one of the comfiest beds out there, a good bathroom and plenty of towels. Great location, close to everything but also tucked away to get a really solid sleep. No frills place that has what you need.

This is a classically classy hotel! Beautiful decor, lovely atmosphere, very friendly and, best of all, a total delight to enjoy. A+ which is the highest rating I've ever given to a hotel stay. Delightful location within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and fun people watching. Book a room and get in on the fun.

As we are very spoiled with our travel accommodations :) This was definitely one of our best hotel stays, from the easy check-in, the spotless shower ( with a heater !) endless towels, the most comfortable mattress & the warmest hospitality of the owner who thought of every detail to make the stay perfect! we will definitely come back

The Davenport Inn far exceeded my expectations. Thoughtful details made the stay feel extra special- very comfortable bed, flowers, water, snacks, cozy robes provided and an adorable guest book to sign our names. Check-in was a breeze- all instructions sent ahead of time. We slept great and felt very comfortable and safe. I definitely recommend this beautiful establishment if you are ever coming to Portsmouth. You will not regret it.

What an amazing overnight stay at the beautifully and respectfully renovated historic gem, so perfectly located in Portsmouth’s Historic District. From the excellent advance information, to the seamless self checking, to the beauty and elegance of the staircase leading to our 3rd floor suite, our immediate reaction was how special this experience will be - and was! We will long remember this celebratory stay and extend a deep mahalo and warmest aloha to John and the Team at the Davenport Inn.

The Inn is amazing....from the detailed restoration to the time piece decor. Rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was a problem with the shower. Other than that it would easily be 5 stars.
