Kempinski Palace Portoroz

Breakfast was very poor.

My husband and I recently stayed for three nights at the Kempinski Hotel in Portorož, Slovenia. The hotel is truly beautiful, with impressive premises and a very nice pool. One of the highlights was the exclusive beach area with sunbeds reserved only for hotel guests, which added a nice touch of privacy and comfort. The restaurants at the hotel, both for lunch and dinner, are amazing. We enjoyed every meal, except for breakfast, which was a bit of a disappointment. When the breakfast area got busy, there wasn't enough staff to handle the crowd, and we had to constantly ask for service. The most concerning issue was that my husband found mold in his bread. He showed this to the hotel staff, who apologized, but it did affect our experience. Despite the breakfast issues, we found the hotel overall to be lovely. The pool, beach, and dining experiences (aside from breakfast) were great. If they could improve the breakfast service, it would be great.

4 star experience in 5 star hotel. The level of service is excellent but rooms, breakfast and restaurants do not deserve 5 stas, more like 4. The big minus is a very loud bars on the beach; you can feel and hear the beat even to higher level sea view rooms, not to mention the balconies of which one pays a lot of extra.

Nice and luxurious hotel in Portorož. Great and helpful staff. Nice pool and quiet surroundings. Great food, especially breakfast on the outdoor terrace. Nice and modern rooms. The hotel was fragrant from the moment you entered.Hotel is near city of Piran

First time in Slovenia and was very nice ..the Kempinski helped make the whole experience enjoyable ..

As a guest of a 5-star hotel, it is understandable that high expectations are set for all aspects of the stay. However, the mattress in my room was worn out, with a noticeable dip that should not be present in a hotel of this caliber. On the positive side, the staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast offered a great selection. While the pool was nice, the hot tub was disappointing. The water temperature in the hot tub was only 93.6 degrees Fahrenheit, which is below human body temperature of 97.8 degrees Fahrenheit, making it not hot at all. According to the swimming pool staff, this was the maximum temperature they could achieve. Overall, I am not impressed with this 5-star hotel. The mattress needs to be replaced and upgraded to meet the standards expected of a luxury accommodation.
