Hôtel Ambassador Palombaggia

This is more a farm called a hotel. Agri Turismo. To pony’s “cutting” the grass along the pool side. Lots of cats, dogs and other lovely animals entering your room/unit if door left open. Not much in the unit functioning. Only half of the electric light worked. No pressure on water taking a bath (if same time as other guests, no water coming out at all) 😊 the drain was cluttered. Safe not working. Locks for doors no working. No shading at the terrace. The hotel needs maintenance in generel. Pool was semi clean and guests had to remove bunch of dirt from trees and dead insects by them selves. No staff during the day. No drinks, snacks og other services possible during day. They managed to serve unbaked Croissants every morning (I mean in France🤭). Staff was friendly though. Not their fault the owner of this hotel doesn’t manage to obtain the potential of this location. “Beach club” is just a non charming old three construction serving a public beach. When we arrived late afternoon we were informed that the restaurant was closed. Only recommendations was a family owned restaurant 1,1 km away. Even though a very good restaurant was located just next door. So a 4 start hotel?? Not at all.

Not a 4* hotel! Staying at this “hotel” is one of the strangest experiences we have had so far. It has nothing to do with a hotel, and everything written on the website isn’t true. The closest thing I could resemble it to, is an Agritourismo, but even then, a really bad one! First the room; very dark and has a funny smell. Our room was right next to the reception, walls are very thin so to one side we had the reception sounds of ringing phones and to the other side the toilet sounds from the next room. Our terrace was not private at all, and in full sun all day, making it impossible to sit there before sunset. Nothing worked in the room, every other lamp didn’t work, the safe didn’t work (so had to use a key) doors are crooked and difficult to lock, and every door has a different key, so you walk around with a giant keychain. Water pressure is so low, that rinsing out conditioner is almost impossible and water disappears if next door neighbors are showering at the same time! Pool is really dirty and smells like really bad, if the wind is blowing from the wrong direction. Because as mentioned, this is more an Agritourismo. Plenty of cats, dogs, birds, hens, roosters and two pony’s. The pony’s double as the lawnmower being placed around the pool during the day. All adding up to the weird sensation of this not being a hotel. The website mentions spa, beach club etc. But none is true, the brother has a fast food shack on the beach with a few mattresses on the sand, by the beach 500 meters from the hotel, but it’s not a beach club and it has nothing to do with the hotel. The alleged beach shuttle, is the pool boy (very kind) who will take you to the beach when asked, in a golf car. The hotel advertises for cocktails and a restaurant, but during the 5 days we were there, we never once saw a drinks menu or anyone who could serve us anything. This is by far, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at, and we are used to traveling off the beaten track in Asia, so we have seen our fair share of alternative hotels. Not worth the price and really our best advice; go anywhere else but here.
