The hotel has a good location, but the service was not that good. I found the breakfast to be average and the room structure to be very old for the price charged.

The building is old, but it's cleaner than expected. The location was really great!

Only good thing about this hotel is the location and friendly staff. There is NO 'bar or restaurant that serves international cuisine and regional dishes'. The 'guests can relax on the sun terrace, or make use of the computer and fax facilities available in the lobby' does NOT exist. The 'inner courtyard view' consists of staring into neighbouring apartment windows. There is NO 'terrace, mini market on site, vending machine, business centre, ATM/cash machine on site, concierge service, etc'. Breakfast consists of two cereals, yoghurt, tinned fruit salad, bread buns, ham, cheese, and a couple of pastries, same everyday. Hotel is very dated and in need of a professional refurbishment rather than patchwork fixes. The listing should really state that there are stairs at the entrance to get to reception, so only able-bodied guests can access the hotel.

Old hotel, with some needed work on the premises, however for the low price i would say its a perfect place for budget travel. 2 blocks away from Sao Bento Station, you can reach most touristic places of Porto walking from the hotel. Room spaces are fine, even tehre was a little space with 1 more bed so a party of 3 could stay in same room with some privacy.

We were in porto supposedly for two nights, staying in this central hotel. Rooms are clean, receptionists nice and speaking several languages. We had a night emergency with our baby and they called a transport for us, sending us to the proper hospital and asking us how things were going the day after. We had to add a night in Porto and they were super efficient. It may not have all the modern comforts, but if we're staying in Porto again, we'll definitely book a room there. Thank you for everything :)

We stayed one night. Everything was perfect, a very warm welcome, the room was clean and very cute. Nothing to say, I highly recommend! The quality-price ratio was amply respected. The TV works very well (there are a lot of channels, in particular, from different countries). The only small “problems” I could point out are, the fact that the hairdryer didn't work (or we didn't understand how to turn it on), and one of the shelves next to the bed started to fall. There is also the trace of an old mirror on the wall (which could displease future customers). Thank you very much to the hotel staff for welcoming us!

Very central location. In the bathroom there are shampoo and soap dispensers. Fairly spacious room. The lady on staff doesn't speak English. There is almost never anyone at the reception. The mirror light didn't work. Very high and hard pillows. €4 tax to be paid in cash only. The room was next to the reception, so you could hear ALL the outside noises. Window overlooking a small, non-accessible courtyard where all the air conditioners were located, so there was a lot of noise when they were on. Taken away from the bed.

Ideal location, friendly staff. For the rest, disappointed with the room, very dated. Everything needs to be redone, dirty walls, no ventilation, smell of humidity as soon as you enter the room. Light breakfast, entrance difficult to access for disabled people, steep staircase to reach reception. Lack of soundproofing, very noisy street.

The GIRASSOL is a very basic accommodation in a very good location. Surrounded by restaurants, shops and cafes. The hotel 🏨 was very clean. We had room 101 right next to the reception. The whole hotel is very noisy. The furnishing of the rooms is very, very simple, hardly any furniture or closets. The view fell on a very dirty backyard. The best thing about our room was the bathroom, which was quite nice. There was even a bathtub. Unfortunately, like most hotels, to save water so guests don't use too much water, there was no plug to close either the bathtub or our sink. As a result, we were not able to use our bathtub or our sink 100%. If you don't expect much luxury, you can book the hotel. But I also found the price very high for what the hotel offers. Maybe it was because of Easter, no idea. The city of Porto was completely overcrowded anyway. Didn't really feel welcome as a guest. Stayed here in May last year, it was all absolutely amazing. Now there are countless construction sites. It is not possible to fully enjoy the city of Porto at the moment.
