We stayed in two rooms at the GA Palace for a week at the beginning of August this year. We were happy with our rooms and the staff at the bar/restaurant and pool area were delightful. At the end of our stay we settled our bill for both rooms, when we realised that my brother, who had left earlier to catch his flight, had been charged 200 euros on his credit card (he checked in before we arrived so they had his details). When I asked at reception what this charge was for they had no explanation, and we were kept waiting for a manager to come, growing more and more concerned, to eventually be told he was stuck in a traffic jam! We were astonished to eventually be informed that the charge was for a missing bed blanket. The housekeeping staff had put a blanket over the beds in the twin room about half way through our stay, however there was never a blanket in the double room at any point, so I assume that's why they believed a blanket had gone missing, although they never confirmed which room they were talking about. We were left feeling like criminals over the course of the hour it took to resolve this issue, when another member of reception staff finally stepped in and told us she believed that we hadn't stolen the blanket (not without saying that the whole situation was a shame for them as well as they had lost a blanket after all!), and finally refunded us. We left the hotel to go to the airport clearly very upset and it was a very sour note to end our much-needed holiday on. I subsequently sent two emails to the manager and the info address to discuss our experience, as we didn't feel the issue had been handled well by the staff at all, only to receive absolutely no communication back from them whatsoever. I then followed up with a phone call, during which one of the reception team confirmed they had received my emails and the manager would phone me back — however, no call ever came. We gave them plenty of opportunity to rectify the situation, both in person before leaving the hotel and subsequently via email and phone call, and all we wanted was an acknowledgement of the distress this incident had caused, and yet received absolutely nothing back. Having spent over £4000 pounds over our stay at this hotel, this was incredibly disappointing, and we certainly will not be back or recommending this hotel to anyone.
