Not that great. The Lugger hasn't been quite the same since Covid when we were told they weren't open to non-residents. They since opened up again, but this time the food was OK but tiny portions (the crab linguine was a starter size for the price of a main!), and the service and attentiveness of the staff was mixed at best. Very quiet too, so no atmosphere, and being quiet didn't secure us closer attention either!

A birthday weekend totally spoilt, this hotel is very tired, room 205! Bring a rope to climb the stairs! a sink that will not empty, steak on the website menu but no steak when you are given a restaurant menu, the breakfast was appalling, firstly - no kippers! I then ordered bacon and eggs, see the pictures to see what was put onto the table, you could not make this up. We will never return to this hotel. I have contacted the food standards agency in Truro already, I would hate to think that someone got food poisoning because I failed to whistle blow on this establishment. I have also contacted the Times and Telegraph newspapers, I feel they need to return to this place and review again, they will have a different story tell, this place is falling apart.

I took my mother away for one night to celebrate her 70th Birthday and I am so glad I chose to stay at The Lugger Hotel. It was perfect! The staff were warm and welcoming, particularly Alison who took us to our rooms and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is peaceful and away from the tourist buzz. We sipped drinks on the balcony in the evening and ate breakfast while taking in the beautiful views. Alison even arranged for a birthday card from the team for my mum, which she loved! The rooms had a lovely fresh feel and we felt very comfortable and value for money. My only complaint…. We didn’t stay for longer!!

We had a wonderful time for our 3 day holiday in Portloe and Cornwall. The property was amazing. Our group was upgraded to a suite which really enhanced our stay and our experience. The restaurant, staff, management and Food and Beverage offerings were very memorable. I am a global events producer and this property is top notch in every capacity. My wife and have just returned from a fabulous three night stay at The Lugger Hotel, where we were so well looked after by Operations Manager Stuart and his team. Evie the receptionist was welcoming and helpful and always had a smile for the customers. Lydia and Cody our waitresses at dinner and Debbie at breakfast were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The quality of the food prepared by Head Chef Darren and Sous Chef Sharona was outstanding and beautifully presented. Stuart managed and organised the team well and was thoroughly professional in everything he did. Located in a typical Cornish fishing village "The Lugger" offers charm tranquility and a unique ambience all of its own much appreciated by us and all of the other guests we met who were incidentally return visitors. We will be back

Cannot fault it, lovely room, sea view, staff were really nice, bed super comfortable, breakfast and dinner delicious and lovely to sit out on the terrace with a pre dinner drink. Nice little beach good for a quick swim at high tide.

Stunning setting and views to relax the body and mind ! Lovely hotel with everything for a comfortable stay ! Stayed in The Lookout , just the cutest self contained room . Nothing was too much trouble, hope to stay again .

Authentic fishing port and great little hotel. Lovely food, great staff and amazing views. Although right on the sea, not a great beach for swimming as rocky and rough but food, drinks and view more than make up for that! Best cooked breakfast ever, with the most lovely waitress and stunning views (and sunshine helped too)

Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Room kept very clean and has all the amenities you need. We really enjoyed it we stayed two more nights 😃
